This cabin was beautiful. Not the fanciest, bur exactly what we needed...quiet! Directions were spot on. GPS worked fine. Everything was stocked, the cabin was clean and comfortable. Thank you for a great visit. Will recommend this listing to anyone that wants solitude. Only loons, an osprey, and an orange cat visited us.

The ad advertised a bbq but there was none. Tea towels only one. One dishcloth. No facecloths. And the pots we used needed cleaning. Not the owners fault for dirty pots. The kitchen was well stocked and with treats. Lovely location. We will be back for sure
Perfect spot to getaway from busy life. Very quiet and tranquil with beautiful views of the lake. Also my boyfriend had some success fishing from the shore! Great communication with the owners throughout the stay.
If you’re looking for a nice cabin in the woods this is the place! It had everything we needed except for a cheese grater! Note: not the best for people with accessibility issues as the main bed is up in the loft and you need to use a ladder. This is also an issue if you have a dog! Beds are comfortable, sheets are nice. We found there were a lot of bees but perhaps it’s just this time of year? Or a nest nearby? The view is incredible, again be warned re: accessibility going down to the water. We used the boats, were hoping to swim but lots of tall water grass and lily pads so we stayed out. The dock makes it look like it’s on the water but it’s not it’s on rocks (again perhaps time of year as the water is low?). Great communication with host.

Aunts
We tried to enjoy our stay however there was a slight aunt problem. We did let the host know and commutation was good on his end, was told they was unaware of the problem. Has told us it would be taken care of but unfortunately that didn’t help our stay. There was a few other issues but I won’t get into all that. I hate to leave a bad review but unfortunately we was very disappointed in the aunts and conditions of the place, soft floors, uneven floors and what not. We did make the most of the stay enjoyed the beautiful view, fire pit, kayaks and fishing.

Review of 612 Pic a Lac , Loon Cottage
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage although this was mainly due to the friendship of the four women. The views are breathtaking in the midst of nature’s beauty.
There should be better signage on the road leading to the cottage. We arrived late afternoon, GPS on but service is not the best. We drove way past the small number sign. Four women alone on a wilderness road, no phone signal, no GPS and no SOS…..scary to say the least.
Upon entry to the cottage, we were hit with cold dampness. Heat source , a wood stove, no paper, no kindling inside or outside could be found. Obviously unacceptable with our damp spring NS weather.
Description stated a king, a queen and a double bed. There was a king in the loft but a single bed in one bedroom and more 3/4 versus queen, in the other bedroom. Sheets and pillowcases were worn thin and nubby in places but were clean.
Seating to relax for an evening would have been much more enjoyable if there had been four chairs as seating in the living room area. As it was, 2 sat on the couch, one in the recliner and one on the hard , wooden , kitchen chair. Again not ideal.
Outside furniture ( chairs) were dirty and had to be cleaned before able to be used.
There was no microwave, a very inexpensive item that makes it so convenient to heat up or reheat a quick bite.
It should have been mentioned that phone service can be spotty at times. A bit of airing out, some kindling, would have made a big difference
Would we return to Loon Cottage? No!
This is the place for quiet solitude. Loons, songbirds and rustling leaves are the only sounds we heard. The road in is a bit rough but this rustic cottage is worth the ride. It was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Beautiful view of the pristine lake from the front porch. The canoe wasn’t pretty, but provided us with hours of paddling pleasure. I highly recommend Loon cottage for a peaceful getaway.

Beautiful view
Remote, rustic cabin where bird song and wind in the trees are the only sounds you will hear. There is a spectacular view of the lake which although accessible, requires good balance over slippery rocks.
