Fab Family Getaway

Our family of 5 plus grandparents had a relaxing & fun week at a favorite lake in Ontario. The house was wonderful- clean, open, amazing view, great deck, kitchen with everything we needed for cooking dinners. Big table for eating & games. We had a blast!

Wonderful cottage in spectacular setting

Our family of eight really enjoyed 9 days in this lovely, comfortable cottage with its interesting history and spectacular view of Rock Candy Mountain. It was a perfect spot for exploring the beauty of eastern Algoma. We particularly enjoyed climbing the trail to the top of the cliff and watching the falcons from the lookouts, visiting Aubrey Falls, Pigpen Chutes, and the Boom Camp Trails, and a variety of area paddles. Our teenage grandsons especially appreciated the trampoline and the swim raft. The cottage is exceptionally well provisioned and Anka was the most gracious, helpful cottage host we've ever encountered. We highly recommend Rock Candy Cottage.

Cozy Cottage

We along with our 5 daughters, and my sister, spent a week at Anka’s home away from home. The place was really well appointed, with super fun amenities such as a sauna and the small lake crafts. It is a perfect. Place to soak in natures beauty and spend time with each other. I had a magical moment communicating with loons on he lake. We also spent time at Aubrey Falls and hiking up the cliffs across from the cottage. Anka was very kind, and easy to communicate with. She clearly appreciates her stunning property and generously shares it through Vrbo. I hope we can go back again in the future. Heather

Beautiful Cottage and setting

As soon as we arrived after a 6 1/2 hour drive from Toronto, we knew it was so worth it. In the past we have been so disappointed at other rentals with what the pictures promised, but this cottage really delivered. With the beautiful beam construction, gorgeous stone fireplace, cathedral ceiling in the open concept main area, and the stunning view of Rock Candy Mountain (the sheer cliff face looks like rock candy), we loved it immediately. There were so many pleasant surprises: a sauna, trampoline, good quality water toys (kayaks, canoe etc.) and an electric piano, to name a few. The cottage was well equipped, with a complete kitchen that included everything we needed (lettuce spinner, garlic press, panini grill, blenders, coffee makers, waffle iron and extra basic cooking ingredients left in case we forgot something). The modern bathroom was clean and one of our party kept saying it was more like a hotel bathroom than a cottage. And the washer and dryer - very convenient and appreciated! The lake was quieter then we thought it would be - we were there at peak season, and it was relatively peaceful, perfect for our preference of swimming, kayaking and canoeing. The hike up to the top of the Rock Candy Mountain is a decent workout, with the reward of 3 stunning views of the surrounding area. A nice half day outing. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, making themselves available and generally making everything very easy for us. A very highly recommended oasis.

Awesome place to stay.

Awesome place to stay. Plenty of room for all eight adults. Everything was clean and comfy and cozy. Well furnished with pots and pans and everything else you need. The owners we’re very prompt on getting back to us with any questions we had. The lake itself is great with the view of Rock Candy Mountain. We all stayed for two complete weeks and had no problem! Perfect place to get away and relax and enjoy the beauty of this country. Will definitely be back again next year!

Great stay.

Very enjoyable stay. Will definitely return. A great feature of amenities and room for all guests. The host was very helpful and easy to work with leading up to our stay.
