Spacious Northern Retreat

You will love listening to the loons calling on the lake as you sip your morning coffee on the huge deck. Finish the day with a Bar-B-Que and then s’mores around the firepit. This well appointed house is developed on 3 floors and sleeps 8 and steps away from the lake shore. The town of Lac La Biche is 5 minutes away, for groceries, restaurants, sports store, state-of-the-art recreation centre, etc. High speed internet, triple garage, air conditioning, and storage space. It’s a quiet neighbourhood 2 km from the highway 881 (to Fort McMurray) accessed with paved roads. Well-known park on an island, Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park with a sandy beach, is 15 km away. Golf course with excellent restaurant nearby. We’ve stocked up on beach towels, lawn chairs, day use tent, baby items, toys, puzzles, books, cooking staples, extra blankets and firewood. Come on up to beautiful Lac La Biche County for a relaxing get-away!

We have settled in Sherwood Park after Todd’s military career, previously living in Cold Lake, Bonnyville, Winnipeg, and Comox. Ruth is a medical lab technologist currently at U of A Hospital. We are fans of VRBO and Homeaway and stayed in a few wonderful VRBO homes in Canada, California and Florida. Our reasons for choosing VRBO as travellers is the self-catering opportunities (son’s peanut allergy), and the extra value of the bonus amount of square footage in the home compared to a hotel. VRBO properties let the kids have their own space on rainy days.
