Winter getaway weekend

Amazing location and coziest wooden cabin. The cast iron stove kept us toasty and warm. Markus and Burgi were great hosts! We did a improvised winter canoe trip and got to see a family of otters! In a nutshell: it was all and more we wanted for a getaway weekend.

We had such a great time here! The hosts were so friendly and easy to talk to — it felt like visiting old friends. The place was peaceful and perfect for relaxing, and we spent hours fishing right off the property. The sweetest part of the trip was getting to hang out with their adorable dogs, especially little Ellie — she’s a heart-stealer! Everything was comfortable and welcoming, and we left feeling refreshed and happy. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful stay here. The space was even more beautiful than the pictures and description. The cabin, sauna, and outhouse were incredibly well built and designed, and have been maintained beautifully. It was easy to stay warm during our winter stay, the fireplace kept the cabin toasty, and the wood was well stocked for saunas and cooking too. Our hosts were very welcoming, kind, and fun. They taught us how to curl on their river ice, and showed us how they are good stewards of the land. The cabin was very clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully outfitted for a quiet, relaxing, forest-y stay. Safety conscious: with CO and smoke alarm in the cabin, running water (hot and cold), delicious drinking water, and easy to use solar and back-up systems. Best hosts!! Would definitely come back again!
