Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a true oceanfront property with an unobstructed view and direct access to the water line (which is an old reef, not sand). During whale watching season (January-March) there is a lot of visible whale activity offshore. There are many restaurants nearby, and for cook-it-yourself the Safeway is a few minutes away.

Quiet, great location and view!

Absolutely loved staying here. The only “downsides” are the parking lot is furthest from this unit, and no laundry in unit. We knew this going in, and would stay again anyway! The unit and view are perfectly described.

The property is decent.The grounds are adequate, but a bit on the old side.Air conditioning is only in the bedroom.The view from the patio is phenomenal, a beautiful sight to see every morning.Overall a good place for the price but the laundry room appliances need an update and upgrade for sure.Kauai is a beautiful island and Kapa’a Shores is in the heart of the town.

Wonderful stay in Kapaʻa

Location was great. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to be able to go to anywhere on the island in no more than an hour. Kapaʻa is a great town with a lot of restaurant options. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking to explore the island and stay away from the crowds of the resort areas.

Great location

The location of the unit was oceanfront, exactly what we were looking for. The property management was very helpful and accommodating. The unit was fully equipped with everything we needed including beach chairs, cooler and umbrella, nice touch.

Good place for on the water and easy access to North and South shores

We spent time in the North Shore a few days and in the South Shore a few days. Kapaa Shores Resort gave us a great starting and ending point each day. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our own meals when we wanted, the view from the living room, lanai, and back yard are unmatched. Sunrises were straight out from us (condo faces due east).

Great place to stay!

It was our first time on Kauai and didn’t know where to stay. It turns out we choose a really great condo in a nice central location to easily see the whole island. The listing warned us about a roof replacement project, and I think the rates were discounted because of this, but it really wasn’t an inconvenience at all. Would definitely recommend this place….. :)

This property is exactly as described. It's the closest condo to the water. Absolutely beautiful waking up to such a beautiful sunrise. The code on the door was convenient. It was clean and has a well stocked kitchen. There was a cooler and beach chairs if we required. We spent 5 nights and it was so comfortable. Would love to come back someday. Check in and check out was super easy, the code was emailed to us.

Great vacation

The location was great, exactly as described online. We had the bottom condo at the very end of the unit and was fairly private and not super crowded. Always had a lounge chair available on the lawn when we wanted to bask in the sun. One drawback to being on the ground unit, we had very loud stomping from unit above us. (Even went up to the upper unit and asked them about the thuds), they were surprised. Nonetheless, it continued for 4 days at all hours. Would stay again for sure.

Perfect stay

The condo was cute and Aloha. Walk out on this ground unit to tide pools, and property amenities were good, property grounds were pretty. Ocean views all day all night, perfect breeze. Location in Kapaa is perfect for reaching most of the islands best places. Airport is 30 mins, Waimea canyon 45 mins, Nepali reserve 1 hour, north shore 45 minutes. Poipu beach snorkeling 40 minutes, Lydgate state park 10 mins. Condo is small, but has what a small family needs, and is nice. If you are spending your time in the condo instead of being outside, you are missing the action anyways. Mahalo!

The ground floor location makes the lawn space between the unit and the ocean seem like part of the living space. Because the unit is far from the common areas of the complex (pool, etc) it is quiet and seems quite private. Groceries, restaurants, etc., are close by. Communications with the property manager was clear and timely, and the arrival was a breeze. Would recommend this unit for a couple seeking a relaxed ocean front stay in Kauai.

Not impressed

I give it a 5 for the view. However, it’s a definite 3 for the condo. It needs a major update. The bathroom is from the 80’s or 90’s. It doesn’t matter how well you clean it, old doesn’t clean up well. Also, the furniture was extremely shaggy and the living room rug needs to be tossed. The island is beautiful and we had a wonderful time, however I would never stay there again.

Reviewer Comments: 1. We were not notified that the rental was a private party and that local manager was not supportive of issues2. The mattress needs to be replaced. We had back aches for 2 weeks3. Inadequate outdoor lounge chairs to accommodate the number of guests and no umbrellas to avoid sun burn.4. Unit was filthy and mid stay cleaning only included sheets and towels changing. We had a 1 inch size roach in living area. 5. Locks on screen and sliding door broken.6. Couch cushions were old and ptobided no support7. Tub was slippery and we had to purchase mat so we would not fall. 8. Curtains in living roo, should have tie backs so venting window can circulate air
