Ski Vacation

Our family enjoyed a wonderful winter vacation at this property. It was well stocked and very comfortable for our family of 4. The views in all directions were breathtaking! We would definitely stay here again.

Love the location

The home is as advertised! Easy check in and spacious home. When the door was not going to open due to batteries dying, I received an email from the owner. We saw many deer, chipmunks and hummingbirds while there. It was a bit warm while we were there and luckily we brought a fan to help circulate.

Peaceful, Quiet, Park-like Setting

This is a delightful place in a peaceful quiet setting and the owners have added many little touches throughout making it truly special. The living area is comfortable and well appointed with a Southwest and Native American inspired vibe. The kitchen is very well equipped giving you many choices for food preparation. The downstairs TV room remains wonderfully chilly all afternoon, even on the warmest summer days and it even has an upright piano. The master suite is roomy and the memory foam mattress is very comfortable. Both televisions in the home worked perfectly and were easy to operate. The stars are wonderful in the dark night sky with the milky way clearly visible through the tall pines surrounding this park-like setting. The back deck is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The hosts have provided lots of helpful information in the house binder including local information and maps. There are also local magazines on hand. There are many small surprising extras such as spare toothbrushes if needed, first aid kit, interesting and sometimes whimsical objects here and there, a remote control for the garage door. The home is located near enough to the highway to keep the drive time to town short which is a big plus. No other homes are visible from the deck and view windows. A good deal of thought and consideration were applied when setting up this home. I hope to return here again.

Needs Some Fixing

Neat house and good location. It could have been a great stay but we had several issues. The property owner was responsive and kind, but make sure these items are taken care of before your stay. The house was not prepared for company, the thermostat was set to 50 degrees and took 4 hours to warm to 60. At that low temp the memory foam mattress had become rock hard. The hot water had an awful smell. The owner told us it happens when it’s not been used for awhile and asked us to flush the system. We had to drain the water heater by running the water. While we did this the entire home smelled, so we opened windows to help decrease the smell. We discovered water leaking into the downstairs room and bathroom. We were told this has happened before and someone would come out to clean it. This leak issue continued all 4 nights causing us to have to clean up the water and unable to use the downstairs bathroom and room. There were spider webs on the ceiling and spiders were found in many places such as one of our toothbrushes, our hair, and one dropped from the kitchen lights to our plate. It wasn’t an infestation, but could have been decreased by someone cleaning the webs from the ceiling and lights. There were a lot of dead flies found throughout the home as if it had not been cleaned for awhile. Overall, if these things were not an issue it would have been a great stay. But I found myself doing home maintenance for a house that is not mine while on vacation.
