Our stay was absolutely incredible! Lisa was so accommodating and the house had everything we needed and close to town. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is wanting a lovely space to stay!
This is a beautiful, modern, spacious and comfortable single-storey house that was perfect for our young family to visit and explore Melbourne. The backyard was great for the kids to play in, and kitchen was perfect for some light cooking. Hanna the host was super helpful and responsive when we faced some trouble with the dishwasher. The location was also fantastic, being close to the expressways and a short walk to shops, grocery stores, restaurants and cafes. Our favourite was Coracle -- best coffee and food in our entire trip!
Amazing products in amenities. Clean, neat and tidy. Beautifully renovated and set out. Surprisingly spacious. Lots of places to eat, groceries and chemist all a short 3 minute walk away.
This lovely home was definately a delight to stay in. The small touches were all there and we were close to everything we needed. Highly recommend this property.
The house was warm, inviting, tastefully appointed and in the most gorgeous little street one block away from the sights and delights of my new favourite suburb Yarraville. We had the best time staying here and would definitely come back.
Lovely stay, great place, very spacious. Perfect for what we needed it for and great location for getting to the city cbd. Would rent again and recommend it to other friends and family. Great place! The hosts were also great as well!

Thanks Mitch, we’re glad you enjoyed your stay, thank you for respecting our home, and you are welcome back anytime. Take care.
The property is beautifully presented and thoughtfully kitted out with everything you could need and more. The house is bright, airy and immaculately clean. The hosts were incredibly responsive when we had questions. Comfy beds, powerful shower and fabulous location to Yarraville high street. Would recommend, and happily stay again.
The home was beautiful with all the welcoming touches. The kids didn’t want to leave. Great location with easy walk to train station and shops. Quick trip via train into City. Perfect accommodation.
We absolutely loved our stay! The location was central and was a quick drive to the NYE firework lookout. The house had everything we needed from essentials to thoughtful touches, which made our stay memorable. The handbook had all the information we needed which was super useful. Highly recommend this house, the neighbour hood was quite and we felt secure.
Everything went smoothly. There are board games, speakers a bicycle etc to keep everyone entertained. Not to mention the nearby cafes and unlimited food options. Thank you again and loved the detailed progress pictures of the property! Has to be my favourite property so far.
We arrived very late, but accessing the house was very easy - inside the house was very clean and there were some nice touches by the host to make the stay very welcome. Needed some more towels the next day, and host provided these very quickly - very responsive to text messages. The house immediately felt like home and we were very relaxed there. Train to center of Melbourne is only 5 minutes walk away, as is center of Yarraville where there are plenty of good restaurants, 2 small grocery shops and some bars. My family and I all agreed we would go back if the opportunity arose again.
Beautifully presented property in a quiet but handy location.
This property is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within a block or so of the Yarraville shopping center and a good variety of restaurants. The station is also within 5 minutes walk.
The property is presented as listed and is set in very attractive surroundings. The three bedrooms are spacious as is the kitchen and living area.
The one and a half bathroom setup and laundry facilities worked very well for us.
There is also an outside office linked by a shady outdoor area.
Everything is well maintained and the kitchen contains everything anyone could want.
Beds were very comfortable and bedrooms airconditioned.
The owners have stocked the house with very thoughtful, quality items and have ensured that any guest will have a great experience.
We all greatly enjoyed our stay and commend this property to others.

Penny was a wonderful guest who was very respectful of our property. The property was kept spotless. Penny communicated well and was a pleasure to host. I highly recommend Penny as a guest to anyone and welcome Penny and her family back to our home anytime.
There wasn’t a BBQ as advertised, host acknowledged the advert was incorrect, but wasn’t helpful in resolving, they said it was Vrbo mistake and we need to discuss with them as they would not provide one. Vrbo was no use either, they confirmed advert says has a BBQ but said host is not willing to provide one. Gave time to resolve, but as was no resolution, we rejected the property as it was not as advertised and found alternative accommodation. We currently have an ongoing claim for a full refund. Also the property wasn’t cleaned properly, there was dead flies near doors, microwave was not clean, the towels and bed linen was very poor quality.

Thank you for your feedback. We’d like to clarify a few key points for future guests.
The property does not have a BBQ and has never been listed by us as having one. A BBQ appeared on the guest-facing Vrbo platform due to an error on the booking agent’s side. This was acknowledged by Vrbo, who advised that any resolution or compensation must be handled directly by them, as hosts are not permitted to offer refunds or compensation outside the platform.
During this process, the guest requested that a BBQ be purchased, delivered, and assembled by 11am on Christmas Eve, which was not feasible given the timing. This appears to have been a key source of frustration and has resulted in comments that feel disproportionate to the issue.
The property was professionally cleaned prior to arrival. A single fly near a door can occur between cleaning and check-in, particularly in summer. Comments regarding poor-quality linen and towels do not reflect the standard of the property. All linen and towels are high quality and frequently praised. We have over 100 five-star reviews highlighting cleanliness and comfort.
The guest chose to depart early. Any refund claim is being handled solely through Vrbo, as advised.
We remain committed to providing an accurately represented, well-maintained, and comfortable property and encourage guests to contact us with any questions prior to booking.
Cosy house in a quiet street with everything you need.
This property was perfect for my friends and I to unwind and relax. There was very thoughtful touches by the host along the way that took our stay to the next level.
Generous bedrooms with comfy beds, good water pressure in the shower, a beautiful deep bathtub to relax in.
We enjoyed laying outside on the grass and soaking up the sun. The kitchen has all amenities that you might need and was extremely clean. We weren’t sure how to turn the oven on so we texted the host who replied within minutes to provide us with instructions. She also let us know she would arrange for someone to come and fix the oven if we were still unable to get it working. I was very impressed.
The location of the property was fantastic, a 5 minute walk away from many cafes, pubs, restaurants and grocery stores.
10/10
I would be very happy to stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Marsh
I’m a mum of two daughters, a very proud grandma of two, an animal lover and someone who loves travelling and spending time with family.
Having travelled extensively myself, I really appreciate the difference a beautiful, comfortable and thoughtfully prepared home can make to a trip. I love creating spaces where guests can arrive, immediately feel at home and have everything they need for a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
I’m naturally very organised (and admittedly a bit of a neat freak!), so cleanliness, presentation and attention to detail are important to me. I’m also a responsive and caring host and want guests to know that if they need something during their stay, help is never far away.
When I’m not working or travelling, I love being outdoors, spending time at the beach, enjoying warm weather and being around animals — although I’m equally happy heading to the snow for a snowboarding trip.
For me, hosting is about more than providing somewhere to sleep. I want our guests to enjoy the home, feel comfortable and cared for, and leave having had a genuinely great experience.
Why they chose this property
We love Yarraville for its unique village atmosphere and the feeling of being part of a genuine neighbourhood while still being incredibly close to Melbourne CBD.
Just a short walk from Maggie House is Yarraville Village, with its wonderful cafés, restaurants, wine bars, boutique shops and the iconic Sun Theatre. It’s the kind of neighbourhood where you can leave the car at home, wander out for morning coffee, enjoy lunch or dinner and explore everything on foot.
Yarraville has a relaxed, friendly feel with beautiful period homes, leafy streets and plenty of parks and green spaces. The train station is conveniently located in the village, making trips into Melbourne CBD quick and easy.
We also love being so close to Williamstown and the bay, giving guests easy access to the waterfront, beaches, restaurants and walking trails.
For us, Yarraville offers the best of both worlds — the character and relaxed lifestyle of a village neighbourhood with all the excitement of Melbourne just minutes away.
What makes this property unique
Maggie House offers something increasingly hard to find so close to Melbourne, the space and privacy of an entire character home, just a short stroll from the heart of Yarraville Village.
The beautifully renovated period home is light-filled, spacious and designed for comfortable, relaxed living. With three bedrooms plus a separate outdoor studio, there’s plenty of room for families, groups of friends or guests needing a dedicated space to work during their stay.
Two king bedrooms and a twin room provide flexible accommodation, while the separate studio includes a king-single sofa bed, Smart TV and dedicated workspace.
One of our favourite features is the seamless indoor-outdoor living. Open the doors from the main living area onto the private alfresco space and enjoy breakfast, a quiet coffee or an evening meal outside.
Guests also enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, heating and cooling throughout, Smart TVs and complimentary parking.
What really makes Maggie House special, though, is its combination of space, privacy and location. You can settle into a genuine Melbourne home, walk to Yarraville’s cafés, restaurants, boutiques and train station, and still have Melbourne CBD within easy reach.
It’s a home designed to be lived in and enjoyed — whether you’re visiting for a weekend, spending time with family, working in Melbourne or settling in for a longer stay.
