About this property
West Coast Modern With Epic Inlet Views
The space. The style. The silence. It’s all here for you in this most elegant of waterfront homes that offers a great place for your family or small group of friends to escape from it all, enjoy each other’s company and connect with nature.
You’ve seen the photos, but nothing quite matches being here. You wanted a remote location where you could relax and recharge, and you’ll soon see that’s exactly what you’ve got. The Sechelt Inlet is a Fjord carved during the last glaciation. It's protected from wind and waves by the high surrounding mountains. Mornings and evenings are typically calm and peaceful, with lush green mountains reflecting off the tranquil blue ocean surface.
As you descend the stairs that lead down to our west coast modern home in the forest, you'll take delight in how bright and welcoming the home is and how it invites the outside in, with large windows and skylights giving you uninterrupted views of the beauty around you.
This home offers three floors of beautifully presented living space alongside outdoor areas to relax or get active. Let’s take a closer look at what’s available for you here:
OPEN-CONCEPT LIVING & KITCHEN & DINING AREA
With spectacular scenery, it makes sense to have the biggest windows imaginable. They extend from floor to ceiling on three walls, so you can feel like you’re outside even when you’re inside. Which will be your favorite place to sit and admire the views around the central fireplace?
The kitchen is a fully-stocked chef’s kitchen, filled with Bosch and Kitchenaid appliances. The island gives you somewhere to gather for morning coffee and conversations. You also have an Acacia long table where you can gather for a celebratory meal, play games, work, or find another vantage point to enjoy the views.
2 BEDROOMS
Wherever you sleep, you can enjoy the sensation of drifting off and waking up to the sound of water gently lapping on the shore just outside the house - one of the many benefits of staying in a waterfront home. The master bedroom overlooks the unique indoor zen rock garden, while the 2nd bedroom has a cozy cabin feel thanks to its wooden ceiling. Both beds have quality mattresses, bedding, and puffed-up pillows. Pure pleasure to sleep in after a busy day outdoors.
THE LOFT
If one or more of your group needs a place to escape, perhaps for some peace and quiet or to flip through the pages of that book they’ve been meaning to read, the loft space is the ideal. Sit or lie on the bed and feel like you’re in a treehouse (there’s room for 2 guests to sleep in here if required).
2.5 BATHROOMS
You can lie back and relax in an elegant bathtub or stand under a modern shower and freshen up the way you prefer. The suites are designed with your comfort in mind, with quality towels provided and space to store any toiletries you bring.
OUTSIDE SPACE
You’ll no doubt want to spend as much time as possible in the great outdoors, and a choice of decks means you can take your meals, enjoy drinks, or simply sit and watch the natural world around you.
You’ll find a BBQ to use, so whoever likes to grill in your group can do their thing. And the spa/hot tub provides everyone with somewhere to relax after all that hiking, kayaking, or exploring.
Of course, there’s a fire pit here right down by the water around which you can all gather and share stories, toast smores, and decide where you’re going spend tomorrow on, in, or away from the water.
And there’s an outdoor dining area just off the kitchen, with a glass table that allows you to eat together, with fresh air and nature all around you. This area of the house is designed to be enjoyed as the sun goes down, which can be as late as 10 PM in the summer months. Wherever you choose to sit, you’ll be captivated by the stunning views of The Pacific Range Mountains.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
While some in your group might be here to relax, others are eager to get out to the water rather than admire its beauty from a distance. There are two kayaks and two paddleboards for you to use. Or you can jump in and swim and enjoy seeing a sea lion or jellyfish that also call this part of the world home.
It's only two hours from downtown Vancouver. Hop on the 40-minute ferry at Horse Bay to Langdale. When you hit the Sunshine Coast, follow Highway 101 up the rugged and beautiful east shore of Georgia Strait, to the solitude and natural beauty that awaits. We suggest making a ferry reservation online.
Our home is a private and secluded place where you can expect to see all kinds of wildlife and stunning sunsets. Relax here. Take part in water sports here. Hike or mountain bike here. It’s up to you. Here are some other places you may wish to visit during your stay:
Sechelt
It’s just a 15-minute drive from the house and has several grocery stores, restaurants, craft breweries, and all kinds of trails you can hike.
Porpoise Bay Beach Park
Take your pick from sandy beaches, open grassy areas, and thick forests, all of which you can enjoy and explore.
Sechelt Farmer’s Market
Browse and buy from stalls offering fresh produce, equally fresh fish, and craft items (including beers!)
GETTING AROUND
You’ll need a car to get here and to get around once you arrive if you’re planning to explore further afield. There’s plenty of parking. Once here, you can use the kayaks and paddleboards provided to explore the inlet. Or get those bikes or hiking boots on and go on an adventure.
Please note that this house is located in a more remote location. It’s about 100ft down from the road and accessed by ~80 steps.
You will have access to all areas of the property apart from a private studio under the house, which is separate from the rest of the house. Your hosts want to ensure every stay is a memorable experience for all guests and will be contactable via the app at any time during your stay.
