Mulgrave mansion was a great hidden gem; very spacious and clean; kids loved the pool :) Worked as a great home base for the Cabot trail and surrounding sites. Would recommend and stay again!

Hi Ryan,
We appreciate your review and glad to know know that your family enjoyed the stay at our property.
The home was breathtakingly beautiful. Super private location, so peaceful. It was very clean and comfortable. Coffee on the patio, enjoying the view was our favorite.
We stayed at Mulgrave Villa for six nights as a group of seven. Unfortunately, the property was significantly below what we expected from a listing describing it as “luxurious upscale.” Upon arrival, we found mouse droppings in multiple kitchen cabinets, including around cookware, and in a bedroom nightstand. The coffee maker contained old moldy coffee and bugs. There were dead insects, spider webs, hair in beds and bathrooms, and foul-smelling laundry left in the washer. We reported everything immediately. Rather than coordinating remediation, the owner told us to contact the local property manager ourselves. He acknowledged the issues and returned to clean, but the remediation was inadequate; droppings and dirty cabinets remained. The owner’s communication was dismissive. She called my messages “unnecessary” and “repetitive,” told me to be “a little bit accommodating,” and accused me of seeking a credit while I was documenting health and sanitation concerns. We did not cook dinners in the advertised fully equipped kitchen, washed dishes and towels ourselves, and refrigerated even shelf-stable food due to the rodent concern. Relocating 7 people during peak season was not feasible despite searching. Vrbo ultimately did not adequately resolve the situation. Between the sanitation issues, inadequate remediation and owner communication, I would not stay here again.

As host, we always do our best to ensure comfortable stay for our guests and address their concerns. The guest reported some cleaning issues which were addressed next morning. The guest was continuously repeating same message. We offered her refund if she wants to check out and the property is not up to her expectation. No further messages by guest after 1st day. The guest enjoyed her stay for the full week and after checking out asked Vrbo for full refund, which clearly show guest intent to abuse the system.
Fairly remote location on a large lot, plenty of room do our party of 6. 3rd bedrooms en-suite is eclectic but usable. Had a great time and host responded to enquirers very quickly

Liked: Cleanliness
A very nice property. Four couples stayed there a night while on a motorcycle tour of Nova Scotia. One of the bedrooms didn’t have access to a bathroom so it was more of a 3br house rather than 4br. Spacious with many amenities but there were numerous sticky notes around informing us of things that didn’t work or shouldn’t be used. The access road was gravel and not motorcycle friendly.
This house was beautiful. It had plenty of space for our family of 5. The patios made for a great breakfast and photo spot. The bathrooms and bedrooms were all fully equipped. We loved the vintage bathtub and royalty-like decorations. I would just advise to arrive when there is still light outside :)
