About this property

Updated historic log cabin on the lake, w/ amenities enough for 2 families

Welcome to the Wolf's Head Inn! Operated in the early/mid 1900s as a full-serve hunting and fishing destination; with the individual cabins now long gone but what remains for today’s guests is the warmth and charm of the original common area dining and living log cabin now serving as the heart of Inn. Sitting just steps from the 191 feet of waterfront inside a quiet bay on Lake Farquhar. Feel the Algonquin vibes as you catch up with friends or make new memories with family in the pristine Haliburton highlands!

This 3 bedroom + updated bunkie, 1.5 bath, 1458 sq ft cottage includes a large 2 storey add-on with updated all pine bedrooms while keeping the original log cabin feel in the rest of the space. With stunning lake views set on two sides through large windows; you can see the lake from every room!

The Living Room/Dining Room main lodge are to die for with it's beautiful round logs, new flooring, cathedral ceiling, updated stone fireplace, large Smart TV and sound bar perfect for fun family games and movie nights!

The newer 2-storey addition finds the upstairs master bedroom with a 2pc ensuite, additional twin over double bunk bedroom, AND there is another bedroom with a queen on the main floor for more seasoned guests! Add to this; a main floor laundry with new washer/dryer and 3 pc bath for easy access for all. The pine eat-in kitchen provides great views of the lake and dock sitting at the heart of the Inn between the original grand lodge and the updated 2-storey building.

Want more? There's a 12x16 bunkie with new flooring and paint and floor to ceiling windows holding another queen and twin bed, newer 12x12 shed with water toys + lifejackets, floating loungers, 3 kayaks (1 Junior), paddle board (SUP), bikes, board games, movies, Bluetooth speaker, outdoor cooler, wifi, large lakeside deck with BBQ and outdoor furniture, and lakeside stone fire-pit for those summer nights making s’mores, catching fire flies, or star gazing in the absence of light pollution in southern Algonquin.

When you're ready to play on the water take the gently sloping lot to the large dock that's perfect for entertaining and offers deeper crystal clear water for swimming and fishing.

Surrounded by great local trails for hiking, biking, and off-roading; there's Foodland, LCBO, restaurant, gas, bait, and famous Agnew's general store (serving Kawartha ice cream!) a short 3 minute drive into Wilberforce or 5 minute drive to Harcourt. Find Haliburton (25 minutes) and Bancroft (30 minutes) for more local events, big-box stores, restaurants, and fun experiences all season long!

Worth the drive
We rented for the long weekend and stayed at the wolf’s inn, it was very clean and very well equipped. The lake was beautiful and there were so many activities to do! The owner of the property had set up a binder with all the information we needed to know, there was a couple kayaks, a paddle board, pool noodles and a speaker. We got to meet one of the neighbours and they were very friendly gave us some tips for fishing next time we visit since we weren’t sure what kind of fish the lake had, we now know it’s smallbass. For the garbage we had to take a short 10 min drive to the landfill to drop off garbage/ recycling so bring $5 just in case they have someone there at the entrance. Overall, it was a great experience we had a few minor inconveniences but Jason was so prompt to responding whenever we had a question or concern. We drove from London Ontario and had a blast; we will for sure be returning next year!

Nature, fun and beauty
This accommodation is much beautiful than in the photos. The cottage is ideal for big and small families and has everything you need for have an amazing holiday experience. It is right on a beautiful lake in the middle of the forest. The views at the end of the day are amazing, everything reflecting on the water. The accommodation is well equipped with water sport items for the guests making the day in the lake unforgivable. Jason, the host, gave us a wonderful welcome with great threats and welcome card. I will return to this place with my family. Thanks Jason!

A great escape
Great cottage for a family. Large cottage with great views of the lake throughout, large common area to hang out with a fireplace and tv. Lake is spectacular, crystal clear, great for fishing. Owner was very responsive with any questions we had. There is a foodland 5 min away with an LCBO attached to it. Bring your own firewood for camp fires. Tap water is not drinkable but they provide drinking water through a water cooler. One of the rooms with 2 beds is in a cabin in the woods separate from the main cottage. Beautiful clean cottage on an crystal clear lake perfect for the family

Great cottage getaway
I only have great things to say about this place. The host was friendly, and made an effort to check in. The cottage was beautiful and exactly as described. The water was amazing, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We’re looking forward to staying here again.

Wolf's Head Inn, Fantasic!
We just spent 5 days at the Wolf's Head Inn with our group of 10 and had an amazing time! Nothing but great things to say. It accommodated our large group very nicely, especially with the bonus bunkie. I really appreciated the very large living room with plenty of cozy couch space & seating to spread out and all rooms were nicely decorated and were clean and fresh! I was impressed with the never-ending hot water, the very comfy beds, pillows & bedding and the kitchen being stocked with every convenience of home. Hubby was impressed with the great fishing off the dock & clear skies for stargazing, especially now with Perseids putting on a show! It was great to read & see the history behind the cottage! I LOVED the rustic feel mixed with the bedrooms, washroom & laundry in the new addition - it's the best of both worlds. Outside is well maintained with a large driveway, walkways and pretty garden. The lake is beautiful and really is very clear & warm and was thoroughly enjoyed along with the water toys, kayaks & paddleboard! We'd love to return one day!
