About this property
Fraser Fir Rustic Cabin near Lake w/ Sunset Views
Take time to slow down in this timeless cabin on Kettle Moraine Lake.
In the summer, enjoy quiet moments watching the sun set from the front porch, then relax by the fire pit under a sky full of stars. Fish from the dock, kayak around the lake, or bring your boat to soak up the sun.
In the winter, grab your ice-skates or ice-fishing gear and head out on the lake.
With countless trails nearby, the hiking options are limitless and beautiful in every season.
Your next adventure awaits. Step back in time to the tranquil simplicity of cabin life in our historic cabin from the 1800’s. Updated with modern amenities, you can comfortably experience the unique history of this peaceful place, along with all the natural beauty that surrounds it.
Nestled in the heart of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, yet with lake & sunset views, this cabin offers everything you need for the ultimate get-away.
Settle into one of the coziest places you’ve ever experienced. The open concept floor plan features a dining table, perfectly sized for playing games, and a lounge area with a smart TV & DVD player. The kitchenette offers modern amenities, so you can travel comfortably. There is a fridge, stovetop burner, microwave, toaster, convection oven, griddle, skillet, slow-cooker, coffee maker, and hot water kettle. Light a candle, put on a record, and sip wine as you cook your favorite top-notch meals.
The main-floor master bedroom has a queen bed and an attached bathroom with a shower.
Upstairs, you’ll find a bathroom with a washer & dryer, along with a little nook filled with toys and a Nintendo, for some good old-fashioned fun. The large upstairs bedroom has a desk, a queen bed, and a twin trundle bed.
Outdoors, the home features 2 patios, an outdoor dining area, a small gas grill, and a fire pit. There is plenty of privacy by the crackling fire, and the starry sky will surely impress you.
Walk across the road to find your very own private pier on Kettle Moraine Lake, with the most perfect sunset views. You can fish right from the pier. Our lake has a few weeds here and there, but we try to keep it clear by the pier, so grab a float and soak up some sun. You’ll see little fish through the crystal clear water, begging for bits of bread. The water near the pier ranges from 2-4 feet deep, and is lined with smooth rocks.
Wake up refreshed and drink your coffee on the front porch while listening to the birds sing. Expect to see wildlife here. From turtles to cranes, Kettle Morraine is a wonderful place to catch a glimpse of all the forest has to offer.
Fraser Fir log cabin is nestled at the back of our lake house property. Juniper & Oak Lake House is another rental property we own. Also from the 1800’s, it is a very special place worth checking out, if you’re ever looking to host a large group (sleeps 15).
Between the lake house and cabin is a rustic shed FULL of kayaks, life jackets, a lily pad, fishing poles, & lawn games. You have full access to it, and we ask that you replace everything you use with thoughtful care.
Near the shed you’ll find a charming play area prefect for children under 5 years.
This shed is accessible to our guests staying at Juniper & Oak Lake House, as well.
Our guests love the famous Tiki Bar at Kettle Moraine Lake. It’s just a short kayak ride (or walk) away. There, you’ll find a fun beach experience. Sink your toes in the sand with a margarita in your hand. There are outdoor games for the kids, live bands on weekends, beach volleyball, and a sandy sloped beach for swimming.
With several great restaurants, bars, and a cute coffee shop only 1.5 miles away, what more could you want? Also within a few miles- a grocery store, a nice bowling alley, the weekly farmer’s market, the summer ice-cream & burger stand, gas stations that sell live bait, a winery, and a supper club.
Check out the hundreds of top-notch hiking and mountain biking trails in the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Other activities that draw our guests include ATVing, fishing, hunting, nearby shooting ranges, gorgeous Wisconsin golfing, the famous Air Show in Oshkosh, and the many Road America events.
In the winter, you can ice-fish, cross-country ski, snowmobile, and ice-skate on the lake. There are 2 ski hills nearby. Sunburst (14 miles away) offers 6-8 runs for skiing and snowboarding, rentals, and a great tubing hill for all ages. Little Switzerland (27 miles away) has 18 runs for skiing and snowboarding with rentals available. If you come in December, you can check out the Pankratz Arts Exchange Holiday Dinner Theater and the Old World Christmas Market at Elkhart Lake.
We warmly welcome you to our cozy cabin. Spend some quality time with loved ones. Share cups of coffee, glasses of wine, and marshmallows by the fire.
Come and settle in. Live as simply as you want, or build a few fun outings into your time here. Fraser Fir offers everything you need to relax, soak up nature, and get away.
We hope it’s a place where things feel simple, you can be present, and you leave feeling inspired.
