Year-Round Renovated Lakefront Cottage & Pet Friendly!

Welcome to our completely renovated cottage with 80 feet of lake front that is open year round! Our cottage has so much to offer. Whether you are coming for a romantic get away, a fishing trip or a family vacation, this cottage is your answer! Situated in the quaint town of Mayville in Whitney Bay, this area is known for its abundant fishing, one of the best fishing areas on the lake.

Our cottage has 2 first floor full bedrooms and a fully furnished second floor loft! The master bedroom is on the first floor & has a queen bed (sleeps 2) and the second bedroom is also on the first floor & has 2 sets of bunk beds (sleeps 4) . The beauty here, is our cottage has the potential to sleep 3 additional people upstairs in the loft (no door) with 3 beds. The loft is a very functional room that sleep's additional guest's. So, the cottage sleeps up to 9!

There is a fully functional kitchen and a dinner table that seats 6. A beautiful screened in porch with wicker furniture and an additional dinner table that seats 4 with a picture perfect view of the lake. In addition, there is a deck with a nice seating arrangement and a gas grill equipped with propane that allows for gatherings outside and enjoyment of the nice size yard that leads to a long dock (seasonal). While enjoying the large yard, don’t forget to bring some wood with you and make yourself comfortable on the adirondack chairs that surround our fire ring situated lakeside.

Dogs welcome! If you would like to bring your dog with you, (2 dog max) please let us know what kind of dog(s) you have when making your reservation. We do charge a pet fee (per dog) due to the extra cleaning animals often require. If you are bringing your dog with you, we ask that you follow the rules so we can continue to allow our guest’s to bring their dog with them on vacation. Thank you in advance for your diligence!

You are welcome to tie your boat off on our private dock during your stay as well. (Mid to late May - mid to late October. The water depth is at least 4'-5' high around our dock, so docking your boat will not be a problem. Don’t have your own boat? Not to worry! There are many boat rental options around the lake. Additionally, there is also easy boat launch access just around the corner from our cottage at no charge.

PLEASE NOTE: Check with me the first 2 weeks of May and the first 2 weeks of October if your stay is dependent on the dock being available. The “bookend” months are variable since the installation of our dock is weather dependent. We can’t guarantee that the dock will be in during these months so please check with me prior to making your reservation. Thank you!

We are only 10 minutes from the cute town of Mayville which has almost anything you would need. A 10 minute drive (5 minute boat ride) to Bemus Point and only a few minutes drive to the Chautauqua Institute. There is little you will be missing during your stay! Enjoy a quiet vacation in a clean and totally updated lakefront cottage with all of the modern amenities!

Very clean. Lots of kitchen pots, pans, utensils. The only thing needed was a cupboard to put a few groceries in. We had to keep everything out on the counter. But there was enough counter space to do that. WiFi access was easy. Lots of clean towels. Everything was just as the photos showed. We loved the screen room.

Rainy day getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed the combination of lake and creek views, and privacy of the property. It was fun to watch the evening swims from the nearby beaver dam, and listen to the daily arguments among the geese and cormorants. Off-site amenities were few during the off-season, which was not unexpected, but good to keep in mind when planning your visit.

Hi! Our names are Mark and Karen. Mark grew up in Zanesville, OH and graduated from Bowing Green State University and Karen grew up in Shaker Hts., OH and graduated from Kent State University. We currently live in Chagrin Falls, OH and have 5 great kids. We have many hobbies, some of which include taking long walks, woodworking, painting furniture, sewing, as well as snow and water skiing to name a few. We love to travel and still have some favorites left on the list. Many would probably describe us as easy going, fun loving people who enjoy life. Our "cup" is always half full!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property the minute we saw it! With 80 feet of lake frontage and very few neighbors, we knew this would be a great place. Whitney Bay is know for it's abundant fishing and fisherman come from around the lake to take advantage of the Bay. It's quite, private and it really feels like the perfect summer home. Even though the interior of the cottage needed some "TLC" when we purchased it, we knew we could renovate and make it our own. That's exactly what we did. Just last year, we spent 4 months completely renovating the inside. With a lot of hard work and countless hours of time and energy, we accomplished our goal and we are very pleased with the result. Now, our cottage is warm, inviting and totally updated!

The amount of lake frontage and the view. YES, the view is spectacular! Between the unobstructed view and the sound of the water, it's a match made in heaven! You can instantly relax inside or out which is what makes this cottage so very special!
