An amazing place to stay. On a very quiet road with views out over the bay. You can hear the waves from the bedroom. The house is spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Definitely recommend a stay here.

We loved staying at the Captain’s House! Location is fantastic, house was very comfortable and it was only a short drive to Lunenburg. The Bluenose sailed by and the sunrises were spectacular!!!

Such a lovely place! The stairs are a bit steep, especially for people “of a certain age”, but that kind of thing is somewhat expected in an older character home. We are looking at rebooking for next year!

Comfortable house in great location, immediately across the road from the beach and very quiet with only a few cars passing per day. Comfortable, clean, well-equipped. Had everything needed for a great stay and a wonderful holiday.

We had the most amazing time at the Captain’s House. The house is very clean with lovely decor and had everything we needed. The property is well maintained and has a great yard where young kiddos can play. The view is truly stunning. You can see Lunenburg across the bay, and the Bluenose II sailed by multiple times - An iconic Canadian sight! If you are an early riser, you will also see some incredible sunrises. The beach right across the road is perfect for sea glass hunting and calm enough for swimming. The hosts were incredibly responsive and we are so happy they are willing to share their wonderful property with visitors. We have rented numerous cottages in the area and this one is our favourite by far!

We had a wonderful week stay at the Captain's House! Check-in was seamless, the home exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was exactly what we were looking for, with a beach on our doorstep, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay a short drive away, and views of porpoises and seals swimming in the bay. Lots of memories made during our stay, we highly recommend Captain's House!

The location is absolutely spectacular. The house is beautiful and the decor was welcoming and warm. We had everything we needed for our stay and if we could have, we would have stayed longer. This home was exactly what we were looking for: comfortable, clean, and incredibly well-located. It offered easy access to all the sights we wanted to explore in the Lunenburg area. We especially loved waking up to the sound of waves gently lapping the shore and watching the sunrise over the water. The house was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, and it felt warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We’d love to return on our next visit!
