Great cabin with everything we needed! Very comfortable beds and the kids loved the hot tub and being by the creek! Kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated there being shampoo/conditioner, bath wash, plenty of toilet paper, trash bags and laundry supplies. We loved using the grill and the kids enjoyed all of the games and pool table!
Relaxing family vacation in a cozy, well-furnished, treetop home
We really enjoyed our time in this Black Mountain space! The beds were comfortable, the layout convenient for hosting multiple couples, and the space relaxing. The house is just a 5-minute drive from Black Mountain and an ~20-minute drive from downtown Asheville. The highway noise outside is not overwhelming, and completely inaudible within the house. We enjoyed the back deck for peacefully reading among the trees and the hot tub was a nice feature! This was one of the best-furnished vacation rental homes we've been to -- it felt lived-in and "real." The furniture was all very comfortable. The owner was also very responsive when we had a question. The ~150-yard driveway is quite steep at the end, but wasn't a problem, including to back down; with multiple cars, if driving in front-first, one would want to be careful about planning how to turn around at the bottom. We would be happy to visit again!
Really nicely decorated, kitchen was well stocked, loved the hot tub (although the second night it took so long to get warm we gave up), lovely yard with creek sounds but could also hear some highway noise.
The property had mildew, scuzzy shower liner, soiled bedspread on kids bunk,,, and extremely bad neighbors. We obeyed the instructions and did not use neighbors driveway/parking and yet one came out and scolded us. The parking needs to be disclosed in the listing. I would have chosen a different place to stay. The owners need to address this with the neighbors. I’m sure the owners will post a negative response on us,,, I don’t care. If this the kind of listing VRBO wants to carry ,, I will be staying in hotels

Thank you for sharing your feedback. The showers and linens are cleaned after every stay, and we text each guest before and during their visit to check that everything is in order, so we're sorry to hear this wasn't flagged sooner. Regarding the neighbor interaction, we didn't hear from you or the neighbor during your stay and can confirm the property's parking is private and not shared with any other home. Parking capacity of 3 vehicles is noted in the property description and is also sent as a reminder text before arrival, which is why 4 cars made things tight.

Beautiful Home
We filled this house up very comfortably to the max of 9 people. Although it’s in a neighborhood, it feels very private and is on a serene creek. Just minutes to downtown Black Mtn makes this the ideal spot. Very accommodating and kind host. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Our family had a wonderful stay here. There was plenty of room for the 6 of us and our 2 German shephards with their 2 big beds. Lots of dishes, silverware, and cups. Enough pots, pans, and bakeware to make simple meals. All the little extras you need. Very clean and host was very responsive if there were any questions. Love the fenced yard for dogs I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful home for mountain exploration
This home is spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped and all of the beds were very comfortable. I only wish we had had more time to stay. There are so many great hikes in the area. And the drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to Mount Mitchell was stunning. I will definitely recommend this home to our friends.
House was very clean and spacious. I wish there was a grass area for the pets, one of the dogs cut their paws on the wood chips. The downstairs got really hot at night. The location was perfect to do quick day trips to Asheville. Bill was amazing on keeping us informed about the driveway and neighbors. He was also very quick to respond when the internet went down in the area. Kids loved the hot tub. The creek would be nice to play in but does not belong to the house. The beds are really nice except the kids bunk beds they were really thin but they didn't care. Would definitely stay again.
Our group was an unrelated group of friends and the accommodations met our needs perfectly. The home was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. It was a very cold and icy time of year and the homeowner made sure that we had everything we needed for a safe stay. He was very responsive and understanding of our needs. We will definitely book this home again!
My family had a great time staying at Black Mountain Hideaway. It was only my wife, son, dog and I but there was plenty of room in the house for large or extended family/friends to stay. The beds were very comfortable and the house was nicely stocked. My dog loved roaming around outside the house and running in the fenced in back yard. If I had to say anything negative it would be that the driveway to the house is very steep and I could see it being an issue if the weather gets bad. Other than that, the house was great. Beautiful location and a great place to stay!
The house was awesome. Very well stocked kitchen, and basic supplies. It was clean and nicely decorated. Conveniently located to downtown Black Mountain. The owners took extra time to make a book with some of the local restaurants they appreciated, this was welcome.
The thing my husband and I loved the most about the house was you felt like you were in a tree house when you looked out the window. It is probably one of the best houses for observin g the change in the leaves for this reason. Very private. Thank you for making it available to rent.
We had a comfortable stay at the Black Mountain house and enjoyed the time with family. The home's floorplan is quite spacious and comfortable, which made for a very pleasant stay. The fenced back area was perfect for our dogs & the creek in back was very nice. The kids also enjoyed playing pool and darts in the garage space. We used the blacktop grill for burgers & it was a great dinner. The owner was responsive to our immediate questions via text once we arrived. The parking situation is very tight for three cars. Communication with the host company Evolve when trying to pay the pet deposit was a challenge. The backyard firepit area could use some TLC given the overall rental cost.
