The hotel is modern, clean and has a large swimming pool. It also has children pool and play area. The room we had was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing!! Large selection of Malaysian, Eastern and Western food. The toilet area in our room smells. I think the smell came from the drain in the toilet room. Thankfully it has a door separating it from the rest of the shower room. The hot water in the shower is cold when we had a shower late morning and early evening. The TV picture quality is poor, might be due to the provider rather than the actual TV as the TV looks very modern. No spa facilities which would have been nice.

Shower curtain need to be adjusted manully

Shower curtain was not working for room 1515. Called the reception and was told that it had to be manually adjusted. Tried to adjust manually but gave up. Not sure if this apply to every room as i have read about this comment before.

Few days away in Melaka

Great location for the hotel ... very modern, fab service from the staff who are very friendly. Melaka is a great place to go for a short break The activities on offer, Jonker Street and the food outlets ... all excellent. It is my second time at Melaka ... and it, definitely for back again.

Good Brand Hotel but many things to improve

It was a day getaway. I would like to highlight only for something to improve. 1. Drainage issue at washstand. Seemed it was clogged. 2. Cleanness of Dishes. At breakfast place, dishes was not cleaned up well. Seemed dishes were not dried up properly after washing. 3. Iron section looks so strange. I noticed that few iron boards and iron were on the corridor for use. Why do not designate a room for iron-room for everyone? Just a room for whole hotel would be enough.

good location

check in was speedy & we were pleased. however, it just went down from that point. we had difficulty entering our room. apparently the door mechanism is not working. fortunately we saw a staff & he was telling us this is one of the rooms which such problems. we will need to try to scan the card after waiting for 2 min. the toilet sink was leaking after 1 flush, the toilet bowl system was stuck and we couldnt press the button the shower blind system not working too the staff came over promptly to fixed the sink but strangely, after a short while , another staff came up to change battery for the locker, shouldnt this be all done and checked during the cleaning and making up of the room? at least we were in the room during this time. does that mean that the staff will go in and out of the guest room a few times during the stay when we are out? breakfast was nothing to shout about although there seems to be a wide selection. dont expect quality food though. it was quite chaotic trying to get a seat too. hotel should consider either having reserve signs place on the table so that the guest can easier reserve their table while going about to get their food. OR have table seating arrangement, imagine having to walk around the entire restaurant just to find seats. overall i would stay again as the hotel is in a good location, staff attitude overall good & parking seems secured too. but the hotel might want to take note of all the other issues.

Great hotel. Best part is tat hotel breakfast is free for kids whereas some hotels charge for it. Staff is average in terms of handling guest. Shd be trained more and smile more please.

Overall is good..however, the television in the room is not good because cannot detect usb to enjoy movie and the worse thing is the refrigerator is not function well.. it cannot keep thing cold.. You should take actions to upgrade the problem

Requested connecting room and was assigned 2 connecting room however one was for handicap. Fine... so we go with that. The room light and bed headboard light were not working. After being informed, they fixed the room light however the bed headboard light remain unlit and so the room was rather dark throughout the 2 days stay. Shower room has no partition screen as it was meant for handicap hence we requested for additional floor rug. The rooms has no hair and face towel. Only upon request, they brought the hair towel. 2nd day after cleaning, they took away the bedroom slippers without replacing them. Fridge wasn't cold and has that rubber burnt smell.

The Hotel room was good as per all other novotel rooms. However there was a power outage during one of the day of my stay and it affected the entire building for half a day. There was no apologies or signage to inform the guests and we stuck in the room with the lift and air conditioning down.

Good location and clean room

The vibrant and spacious lobby welcomes guests to the hotel. The room is clean though single bed is a bit too small. Hotel is well located with eateries around and shopping mall.

An Obscure Catastrophe

Sit back & fasten your frustration-belts as we take you down discontent-lane with our horrid experience.We decided to celebrate moms 63rd bday @ Novotel.We were assigned to our 4 booked rooms, all of which were suppose to have kingsized beds.We checked in at 3.15pm and went up to our respective rooms.To our horror, our "king-sized" beds were "2 single-sized beds joined together".My wife who is 7 months pregnant, sat at the middle and the hard separator in the middle of the 2 beds had given her a diminutive shock of discomfort.To reconfirm,I called in the reception and asked them of this situation and again, they tell me its a king-sized bed! This is clearly an act of shortchange!Next we headed to the reception to insist that we get what we had paid for.(4-king sized rooms).After some hustle & bustle,we were moved to 15th floor.We waited @ 5th floor while waiting for the new room cards.This process took 30 minutes!It was almost 4.45pm that we actually got our desired rooms.I insisted to speak with the manager on duty but to no avail as it took almost 12 hours of waiting.Little did I know then,that it was his last month of employment.Clogged bathrooms when taking showers & moss all over.Why destroy such great potential with a operating procedure full of flaws?Its like wearing a ring with real diamonds supported by a raffia-string!Its either they live up to the generous 4 star rating given or downgrade to maybe 2-3 stars so your guests,like us,can expect the unexpected.
