Great place under the stars with very nice cabin style pods. Shared kitchen was so clean and comfortable as were the showers. Sheep in the hills near by to watch.

This was a quick overnight outside of Vik. Very easy to find and comfortable. Has shared washroom and kitchen area. Quiet and picturesque area.

Wasn’t expecting much based on previous reviews, and was very glad I was surprised. This turned out to be an amazing stay. Only complaint was that the kitchen area was rather overcrowded which isn’t really anything drastic.

It was a very pleasant surprise. Its reviews were so negative that we tried to cancel. But it was a great place to stay. Although it is close to Route 1, it is remote. If you wish to eat bring you food. We return to the area, we would stay again.

Great rustic stay!

It was great. What a beautiful setting. Not having a washroom in our pod was the only drawback, but we coped. I have no idea how to pay for this room (or if I already did). I’m sure someone will be in contact.

I never received the checkin details despite of several calls and email to the property as well to the Expedia. I had to book another hotel at an emergency level at the last moment. Please DO NOT recommend this property to any Expedia customer here after. They are absolutely not reliable.

This place should be removed from this site. We booked this place 1 month prior to our trip and they said they will email the check in details as it is a self check in. We received 6 digits code 1 day before but the lock were only 4 digits and the cabin number is not given as well. We couldn’t hold to anyone to assist us in the place, the number posted is not working, they’re not even replying to our messages. Thank God we manage to find a new accommodation that night and Expedia refund us the new booking. Otherwise we’ll sleep in our car like homeless!! This almost ruined our trip.

We didn’t even get to sleep in the cabins because checking in was the worst experience ever. They gave us little to no information and no one answered our calls when we tried asking. The keys should have been ready for us but they didn’t even leave them in the lockbox. Probably the worst experience we had in Iceland as a whole.

There were unresolvable issues at check in and we spent 2 hours on the phone with Expedia and they has to find us accommodations elsewhere. Apparently we were supposed to receive a pod number and lockbox code from the property by email, but we didn’t it receive that and then no one at the property or by phone available to help. It was set up as all self check in. The place looked pretty good but we were really stuck that night in Iceland. Just make sure you have the codes well in advance and all will be well

I booked 6 weeks in advance. I never got any confirmation check in info. Arrived at the property and it’s self check in but of course without a code we couldn’t get in. Spent over an hour trying to message and call the property and nobody ever answered. Had to make last minute arrangements elsewhere. Still fighting for my money back.

URGENT DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! This was an awful property I think Expedia should no longer offer booking with them. No staff members are on sight and delayed us checking in by 3 hours. There were 5 other parties with the same issue who ended up not having a place to stay for the night. The staff refused to answer the phone and we ended up having to SLEEP IN OUR CAR because all of the surrounding properties were sold out. DO NOT waste your time or money. We called the next day about a refund and they were incredibly rude and said they did not have our money and hung up.

Firs they forgot to send us the code for the lock box. With the bad signal I had in that location it was very difficult to call them. After about 5 attempts they finally picked up the phone and they give me the information which they supposed to do at least 24 hours before our arrival. No apologies or anything like that, it sounded like this is normal and I've seen other gests having the same problem. If you like to stay in a wooden tent for one night is okay but don't pay the price of a normal hotel for it. The only thing I liked is the coffee machine but don't forget to bring sugar with you. It's an overpriced wooden tent, don't waste your money on it if you have other options.

!!WARNING BEFORE!!! You need a code to check in! And staff don’t respond!!!! We had to escalate to Expedia and thank god they helped us. We were supposed to get a code 24 hours before and got it an hour before check in ONLY BECAUSE Expedia put out at urgent request. We had already booked another hotel in case. Another family was not so lucky and arrived with no way to contact the property as the owners don’t answer so they were left out in the cold with no where to stay. Please please don’t book here unless you have the flexibility not to get a code! Honestly would just avoid it here because of the stress. It was a beautiful location and nice enough “pod” but not worth the anxiety we had. It’s not cheap and you can stay in better places for the same price with actual owners who care.

Tried to stay here on July 19th. Property never sent code for check-in or answered the phone, and landline in guesthouse was not working. We saw another group trying to check in with the same issue. Both groups drove out to get cell service to attempt to get through. We ended up driving all the way to Reykjavík for a place to stay. I trusted the property because we had stayed in the Edinborg guesthouse 2 days before. The landline worked for that stay. The codes for the 17th were sent ON THE 18th, but since we were able to get the codes via landline, I laughed it off. But then the property sent a screenshot of that code (once again, for the GUESTHOUSE for a 17-18th stay!) to Expedia as “proof” that they had sent us check-in info for camping pods on the 19th, and even said “the landline always works”!!!! No refund. We had been literally and figuratively left in the cold.

I arrived late and my pod had been given to someone else. No problem - a very helpful young man came by and set me up in a different pod. The place is in a spectacular location and the pods are super-comfortable, cozy, and warm. I would stay there again in an instant.
