I found it a bit odd not having a wash hand basin in the toilet.as that facility was not even just outside toilet door. It was in the body of the room.. The bed was comfy but not the pillows.They were square and flat with no support for head and neck..The hotel and staff were amazing ..Very clean.

Good but not great

The room was a supreme room. It was very basic and very badly laid out. Zero privacy in the shower area and the toilet had zero ventilation. I was expecting more for a 4star German hotel. The staff were friendly and the location was excellent

Very handy for Berlin Zoo and Ku'Damm shopping e.g. KaDeWe and Lego shop! Metro station and supermarket at end of street. 15 min walk to brunch options and great pubs! Check in and out was quick and easy and we got free welcome drink vouchers. Indoor bar, courtyard bar and restaurant all lloked good - we only used the courtyard bar. Lifts worked well. Room clean, modern and compact. Shower worked well. Hairdryer, toiletries and towels provided, though one had a hole/rip/ Chargeable mini-bar with drinks and snacks in room. Windows opened onto main road outside. Air-con worked ok. No iron / ironing board. Power sockets only at one side of bed which was annoying. Staff spoke perfect English. Free WiFi. Being a typical Brit tea/coffee making facilities would be welcome. Would happily stay here again.

Great position for seeing the main historical sites. Spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly, professional and helpful. Only downside in room was the shower with a see through door being in the room by the bed; not great for privacy if travelling with someone other than your partner. Not great service in the bar on one evening, had to wait 25 minutes to get served with a drink and then not with a smile. Work on surrounding buildings or delivery to surrounding buildings started very early in the mornings and was very noisy so not conducive to a lay-in should you want one. Overall a very positive experience and would definitely recommend.

The hotel is located close to Berlin Zoologischer Garten. The directions on the hotel website suggest taking the X9 bus to Zoologischer Garten and then taking the U-Bahn, but its only a 10 minute walk from where you get off the bus, which is quite pleasant (depending on the weather). The hotel is in the commercial centre of town with many facilities close by, including cafes and shops and is down a quiet side street. My room overlooked the main road and there was no obvious street noise. The room was filled with sunshine on waking which was very pleasant. The hotel is a converted theatre and has a classy mix of traditional and minimal. The reception staff are very helpful. The room I stayed in was smallish but everything worked. There was no kettle or tea making facilities but the hotel provided these on request. The shower was quite powerful. As always in hotels, the TV had been poorly tuned to odd channels, afterall there are times when you just want to relax in the hotel. The pillows they provided were weird, with zero support. The only negative was that they wanted to charge €20 pp for breakfast. The city is expensive for food so stock up in supermarkets if you can. Picked up a lovely vase in perfect condition from the 60's at the Mauerpark fleamarket on Sunday for €3.
