Good hotel to explore the city of Pécs.

A great hotel in an excellent location, although the parking was a little difficult to get to. The room was a little dated and worn but was clean and comfortable. Great choice of breakfast. The main square was literally a minute walk away. The parking is extra but worth it for location and peace of mind

Staff was friendly, how ever a light was installed to the frame of the bad on which i hit my had in several times, i told that to the clerk after check out but he just laught didn't seem to care, also the room needs refurbishing the bed was almost falling apart, breakfast was great and the sorounding are is great

I enjoyed my stay but had to upgrade my room as no air con but the staff were very help full so when you are looking make sure you book the room with air con but great staff and lovely breakfast

Hotel with lovely features

Good town centre hotel. Lovely historic features. Friendly helpful staff. My room was small but had recently been renovated. Free wifi and speed was good. I ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and inexpensive staple Hungarian fare. Would return.

Short winter break

Visited Pecs for 3 days to make a change from the other 5 days spent in Bucharest. Pecs was quieter and colder. Not all museums were open. Public areas in hotel very impressive. Out standard room on the top floor was basic and compact. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast buffet.

Not to be missed

The glorious art nouveau public areas and friendly and helpful staff make this a must if you are visiting Pecs. The Soviet style bedrooms are interesting.

Central comfortable and affordable

great location but a bit worn out!

the Palatinus is in the perfect location in Pecs, convenient to everything and on a street full of restaurants. but the hotel itself i think has seen better days. my guide book referred to the rooms as sumptuous but mine was spartan at best. i had to unplug the fan (no AC) to plug in the kettle to make a cup of tea and the outlet was under a desk so the kettle had to sit on the floor. the furnishings were worn out and not particularly comfortable. the building is a wonder of art nouveau architecture but it looked like it has seen better days and is in need of a good sprucing up. i am staying at another Danubius hotel in Budapest and my room is the same here!

Mixed review ...

The hotel has an excellent location, & many pluses including beautiful exterior & lobby, stunning views from the very comfortable sun terrace etc.. The room I stayed in was in need of revamp however & the heat/no air conditioning/very noisy fan combination meant that even in mid May it was very uncomfortable to sleep in (or rather to try to sleep in). I believe there are some updated rooms available (for a higher charge) - would go for one of those next time, or somewhere else altogether. I also ate in the restaurant in the evening - food was ok when eventually my order was taken & it arrived, but just ok so overall a disappointing evening. I'd had lunch further down the road earlier in the day & it was lovely (forget name).

Die Fotos im Netz zeigen nicht den wirklichen Zustand des Hotels. Das Hotel ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen das sieht man an der Einrichtung alles sehr verwohnt. Und ein Badezimmer mit Duschvorhang ist ja wohl auch nicht mehr Zeitgemäß.
