Being a condo there was loads of space. Fantastic location as only 2 minutes to beach or you could use the excellent pool and jacuzzis.

It’s OK

Maui prices are expensive so this place is relatively cheap. Location is pretty good, easy walk to bars and restaurants. Condo was ok, just ok, functional and clean. It was a bit tired tbh, layout was odd, very long. The bedroom was right at the front, with no nets, so everyone walking along the corridor could look in. So curtains were drawn most of the time, making it a very dark. We were politely told off by the security guard for drying our towels on balcony. View from balcony was an access road, but if I lent over balcony and craned my neck right I could see the sea. All in all you get what you pay for I guess. It was cheap and clean in a good location, made a good base, so don’t expect tropical luxury and you’ll be fine.

Perfect location, big apartments

As a family this location was perfect for us, nearby nice beaches and restaurants. Apartments big and well equipped. Would stay here again

Nice Condo's, very close to the beach

Kamaole Sands is a lovely place and we would definitely return there, although there are a few things that may be helpful to know before you go! Each Condo is privately owned, much like a time share, so bear in mind that each and every one is decorated and equipped differently. There are also 10 blocks of condo's here, most with great views, but blocks 4,8 & 9 are tucked behind the central courtyard area so have views of the road/car park - NOT the pool and the sea! These are apparently classed as "limited view" rooms. On arrival, we were told that we had booked a limited view room (this was not mentioned anywhere on our paperwork and was news to us) so were given a condo in block 4. As we were there on our honeymoon we were extremely disappointed to find that we had travelled all that way for a view of the road and an apartment that was far from recently decorated! We asked to be moved and explained that we had not, as far as we were aware, booked a condo with a limited view, and certainly would not have chosen said condo as a honeymoon suite! They then gave us the choice of 2 others and we chose one in block 3 which had lovely views of the pool area and was far better decorated and equipped than the first. Following this bumpy start our stay was very nice and relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed it. One other useful thing to note: there is no milk, coffee, tea etc in the condo so be prepared to find a supermarket on arrival - nearest is approx 10 mins walk.

Very pleasantly surprised!

The stay was in a self catered apartment within a resort of self-catered apartments (each apartment is individually owned, but all are managed by the Castle Resorts). Very spacious, we had a decent sized living room, free internet (wifi and ethernet) a very well equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) and a spacious bedroom. The place was very keen, and we even had a balcony looking out on to the beach which was a nice little surprise. The location is fantastic, right on the beach and the neighbourhood is fantastic, loads of places to shop and eat within walking distance. The town itself, Kihei, is about a 20 odd minutes away from the airport in Kaholui so very convenient from that point of view as well.

Location of the condo was great, but the lack of hospitality and the musty smell and dirty bathroom, sofa and floor in the unit were turn-offs for us, not to mention the dust on the vanity top in master bathroom, on the ceiling fans & under the bed. We had to wash the blankets on very first night ‘cause they smelled so bad to use. However, the unit was equipped with all the amenities we needed to stay comfortably, especially for the beach activities including beach chairs, parasol, cooler, towels, etc.

Great location, close to shopping, food, beaches, restaurants, grocery stores. New floor installation next door for 5 days, was bit noisy. Sofa bed was uncomfortable. Had AC, ceiling fans, 2 bathrooms. Let us stay late due to pending storm, very accommodating. Grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. Swimming pool great. Friendly staff.
