Went here with low expectations but we were surprised by the friendly staff and even though the hotel could do with a makeover the rooms were clean he staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was an added bonus. The hotel is in a backpackers area so expect lots of backpackers. The hotel is within walking distance of the city. Overall we had another great break in Dublin

The guesthouse is very centrally located and handy for major attractions. The breakfast was tasty and the staff friendly. Mattresses were well past their best making for an uncomfy night's sleep.

Good location

Very good location, airport bus stop just outside. Clean linen but bedroom carpet looked past its sell by date or in need of a good deep clean. Bathroom ok, reasonable value for money considering high prices in Dublin for hotels. Breakfast included was a bonus and reasonably good portions.

For the money I was really disappointed. We possibly booked on a bad weekend or something but for around £130 a night for 3 nights I would have expected a lot more. We were in a building behind the main guesthouse. The room was small and HOT, luckily we had a little balcony which was great, except it was covered (and I mean covered) in pigeon poo, it was gross. But anyway, we could open the balcony doors to let in a breeze, unfortunately we were right opposite the door out the back of the guesthouse and into the annex which meant several drunken wake up calls every night (2-3am generally) as people made their way across the little "courtyard". We didn't complain as we were worried we'd end up in a worse room! Did consider it though. We wondered that because we'd paid up front, we got a worse room?! To be fair, the room was spotless, can't fault the cleaning staff. Breakfast was ok. All in all, if i was paying £75 a night then it would have been ok but definitely not for the money we paid.

Awful

Really poor service, non existent even. Asking for an iron absolutely threw the guy at reception and when he found it, they had no ironing board and he just shrugged at me. My room was at the building at the back, there was more pigeon mess than I have ever seen, It must be a health hazard. Breakfast was good, the only thing that was. Won’t be staying here again, I think a hostel would have been better.

Good for sight seeing

We stayed at the Glen Guesthouse for 3 nights. The location was brilliant for sight seeing and was close to buses and the Luas so was easy to get around. The airport link bus also stops right outside the front door so that was very useful. The room was extremely dated and is in need of some modernisation and updating. The TV was ancient, only had 2 working channels with a fuzzy picture and the remote didn’t work. The shower controls were in a position where every time you move, you knock it with your shoulder and turn the water to scolding. The bed and pillows were quite hard and uncomfortable. However on the whole the room was spotless and was kept clean during the entire stay. The breakfast was a really good quality and staff were friendly and attentive. Irish breakfast was lovely and also French toast with honey was amazing. Overall for a city break the guesthouse was good value for money and in a good central location.

Staff pleasant , willing & helpful . Fire alarm went off a midnight , no explanation as to why . Breakfast not great as it’s pre made in advance , the kitchen facilities not suitable for the purpose of running a guest house . Accommodation not worth the price charged .

One night in Dublin

Brilliant location close to the city centre, the room we had was a bit tired and in need some TLC but that was reflected in the price that included a decent breakfast. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We’d stay again.

The dump of Dublin

Dublin was beautiful, absolutely loved the city, the hotel however... Communal areas need cleaning. No wifi, no toiletries. The room was freezing cold as was the service. Rubbery cheap breakfast. The whole hotel needs updating. Found having to hand in keys every time we left the hotel very odd and front door always locked. We will definitely be coming back to Dublin but NOT to this hotel.

Good location, but that's about it

Old, tired decor. Conveniently located close to town, but being on a main road, the street is busy 24h a day, so constant street noise. Also no heating control in the room so was far too hot to be comfortable. Good breakfast and polite staff.

Angry and disappointed customer

This place needs a total refurbishment and is probably the worst place i have ever stayed in after many years of travelling. First room was so cold and beds were terrible, then got moved to a larger room, which was the complete opposite as the radiator was constantly on and it was like being in a sauna!! Television Arial was broken and they could not repair it as were other items in the room. Having got the time to list every fault in this place, and the £283 charge for 3 nights was a total rip off!! As it was storm Emma at the time and places were scares i had to suffer the 3 days in there. Suggest you take it of your site, as you are misleading people by sending them there. I have booked through yourselves for many years, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth. I feel you should make some sort off reimbursement to me,which you probably will ignore!! To say i am angry is an understatement!!

Good central location

Airport bus stops right outside and great pub nearby with live music every night and good food. As far as the Glen is concerned, the room was clean, we did ask for the heating to be turned down but it remained hot. On a noisy road - the single glazed window didn't keep much noise out. Staff were polite & helpful, dealt well with faulty lock on our door. Cooked breakfast not wonderful, but serving staff were excellent. Overall, ok for convenient weekend stopover in city centre location

Overall good value stay

The hotel was overall good value. The location was in easy reach of transport links to all the tourist attractions. The customer service was excellent with great breakfast. The hotel itself does need some TLC - peeling paint in the bedroom, cracked sink in the bathroom and would also benefit from double glazing to reduce the noise outside. Saying that it looks like money is being invested to upgrade the facilities.
