Family trip to Lucerne

Host was excellent. There to greet us when we arrived and showed us everything. The apartment was a good size. Decor could do with a refresh maybe. The location was excellent. A stone’s throw from all the sites.

Communication was great with the check-in staff and check-in was easy. The apartments have 2 public car parks within 2 minutes walk which was very convenient. The apartments were clean and had good facilities for cooking, free WiFi and apple TV. Location was fine with Lucerne old town a 10-15 min walk from the property. The biggest issue we had was that the lobby and stairwells were not very clean, bright or welcoming. Being a shared apartment block I'm guessing there is not a lot Galaxy can do to improve this, but it didn't make me feel safe. The beds were also very poor quality. We had to use cushions from the sofa as additional pillows and bedding was very thin. Décor wasn't as modern as pictured, with old painted woodchip wallpaper on most of the walls. Overall feeling was of the accommodation being basic and finished on the cheap.

Not great for family vacation!

Excellent for its proximity to the Center however the location is secluded and hard to find. The hotel itself is not a hotel, more like a managed BnB style flat. General appearance is over hyped in the pictures in reality the flat is much smaller. It was advertised as two bedroom apartment however there was one bedroom with double bed and a living room with a kitchen built in. There were two sofas that opened up to make two more beds. These so called beds were in poor structural condition and questionable hygiene. Once the beds were opened up, the space was physically restricted to a point you had to climb over the beds to get to the toilet across the living room. The toilet was in great condition and cleaned to perfection. Ventilation in the flat was poor and it got hot and humid inside as it was a rather hot day. No air conditioning only a small fan in the living room. The hallway leading to the flat was dark, scary and smelt. Balcony was decent with good facilities to sit and relax. Not a great view outside though but not the flat owner’s fault as the view was obscured by the trees. The gentleman managing our stay was very nice. He met us outside the flat on arrival and showed us around. Brought us spare fans as it was too hot inside the flat. Gave us useful tips to explore the city. Overall I wish I had paid a bit more and got a better flat as it was a rather uncomfortable stay particularly as it was our first night in Switzerland after a long journey.

Die Wohnung war gut für 2 Personen und die Kommunikation mit den Betreibern war gut. Jedoch gibt es absolut keinen Service, nicht mal eine Zimmerreinigung war mitinbegriffen. Wir haben für 3 Wochen gebucht und eine einmalige Zimmerreinigung kostete Extra. Sehr schade.

Stärker künstlicher Duft. Leider sehr dreckig. Boden wurde nicht geputzt. Wände verschmiert. Haare überall. Badewanne dreckig. Möbel minderwertig. Auf Betträndern und Nachttisch Gleitgeel. Internet hat nur 1 Tag von 3 funktioniert. Gegend nicht zu empfehlen. Laut. Zigaretten Geruch. Kaum Verdunklungsmöglichkeit. Heizung schwach. Sicherung fällt regelmäßig aus. Ausstattung sehr nützlich. Gute Küchenausstattung. Sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Verwalter. Super Kommunikation.

Cons- The family accomodation not suitable for more than 4 people with a max of 2 adults per stay. The towels were tiny, they were only big enough to wrap around my 5 year old son. The lift in the building was tiny and only big enough for 2 people. Pro-The apartment was easily accessible and the communication was excellent. The supermarkets were the next to the apartment which was great. The walk to the city was easy and close.

Great stay in Lucerne

The room is clean and spacious and only a short walk to the bus stop. The only set back is that there is no visible signboard to locate the apartment when we reached the place.
