Friendly owners. Great breakfasts. Rural atmosphere. If you would like to be away from hustle and bustle, this may be the place for you. I really enjoyed the private deck area in the mornings. Close to Captain Cook cove and two-step beach.
The host is awesome. He likes to help you whatever you need. The breakfast was delicious and the scene around hotel is beautiful. We want to come back and stay this hotel in next few years.
Amazing views of ocean and sunset from the room/ balcony! Very friendly and informative hosts, who not only provided the info about snorkeling in the area, but also let us borrow the snorkeling gear, etc for the day! Lovely breakfast served in stunning backdrop!
Other than the very vocal local frogs it was a nice, quiet, low-key location on the island, which is what I was looking for. All my needs were met and the host was friendly and knowledgeable. They also made a nice breakfast I enjoyed before heading to my next stop on the island. Of you are looking to stay out of the more touristy areas this is a lovely place to stay.
If this B & B has an opening GRAB IT!
It’s great. Hosts are lovely and the breakfast is amazing. The breakfast was catered to my 6 year old grandson.
Thanks to the hosts.
We loved it.
Our hosts were wonderful and provided a lot of information. The breakfasts were wonderful. As were the visits from the cows and pigs. Also enjoyed waking up to the roosters. Would highly recommend this place. It is out of the hustle and bustle of the main part of the city
Good breakfast. Clean room with ensuite bath. Nice patio and entertainment by all the animals of nearby farm. Host was very pleasant and likeable. No tv but we really werent there much. Recommended
This was our first time using a B&B and it was great! I picked Hale Hoola B&B because of the location and the great reviews and they were right on. The views from the room are amazing. Our activities were mainly on the east and south side of the "big island" so the location made everything easy to reach by car. Carl and Alma were excellent hosts and really made every effort to make the stay enjoyable. The breakfasts were so delicious and I think all the fruit and avocado came from their garden!
Like the hospitality of the host. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delightful and tasty all done my Emma. The only problem we had was that the bathroom were not ADA compliant. The bath tub was a foot of the floor and made it very difficult for my wife to climb in an out of the bath. The breakfast area requires going up stairs and makes it difficult for someone with mobility issues. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
Our cute yellow bedroom was adorable. We spent evening hours out on the lanai - Reading out on the lanai was so relaxing! Listening to all the nightly chirping was cool.
Emma cooked wonderful breakfasts that started our days eating upstairs on their outdoor patio.
Carl shared all the fruits around their home that Emma used.
Location was great - we went to one beach 2.5 miles south and saw fish and a sea turtle. Snorkeled at step down beach - cool fish seen.
We ventured 15 -25 min for evening meals.
Note: downtown Kona parking charges $15/hr - we stayed for one hour to view all the artisans at their art show.
Again great b& b - highly recommend!
Carl & Elma they very nice, breakfast is good, Tiny place but really nice experience, so quiet, but don’t have a big car cause the entrance is narrow. I’m afraid of gecko but I was ok.
Superb location with a view of the South Kona coast from the Lanai! A mile away from some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii.
Carl & Emma were awesome hosts, catering to our many small needs. Looking forward to coming back here soon!
t has its own vibe, the bedroom stylish but overall the room and bathroom need to be updated.
The cows and chickens are fun, but it feels like we are in the farm. Just to be prepared if you looking for that kind of experience. I grew up with cows and chickens, bit it was too much for our vacation:) we had a wonderful sunset view but never tried it on our balcony, since the cows and smell wasn't our choice for the dinner at sunset.
I celebrated my husband birthday here and the host Carol and his wife worked with me to surprise him with a delicious birthday cake. They bought the cake and surprised us. The stay was amazing, if your not planning to stay in all day as we were pretty much out enjoying our activities and slept most of the 2 nites. Waking up to their delicious bed and breakfast was a plus not to mention their breath taking view. If you don’t mind sharing the living room with other guest and value your bedroom with a balcony, bathroom and comfortable bed then you can enjoy the simple life. This one is top of the line for such a good price. If your into updated imentities and appliances your better of spending a lot more at the high end hotels. We will definitely be returning as were locals and just need a place to rest our heads and feel at home while we’re out on our adventure.
A wonderful host and a beautiful property. We would stay here again for sure.
There are ranchers cattle and wild pigs about 20 feet from the back property line. The bulls can be loud, and the local roosters will greet you in the morning...but we loved it.
