Very spacious and comfortable room. Great location, lots of very good restaurants on 17th Street. But our stay was let down by the poor breakfast, which was badly organised and fairly random.

Disappointing

Disappointing - it was all fine in theory but the carpet was quite heavily stained, there were no bedside lights, the dishwasher was still running when I arrived, the key wasn’t ready on arrival and the apartment was on the ground floor - the only working blind was for the window facing on to the street. The side window had a blind that was stuck. So if you wanted any natural light then the passing world could look into the room. The aircon in the hall way was so loud I needed ear plugs to block out the noise. All in all, very disappointing compared to the experience they were selling.

Quite nice with some major flaws

Location excellent. Friendly folks at front desk. Comfortable and spacious room (didn't spend too much time there). But what's up with a street lantern at the height of our 2nd floor window so the room was lit all night because of lack of proper (blackout) curtains? And what's up with the roll down curtain/screens that would leave us totally exposed during the day if rolled up so we left it down and couldn't look out either when we were there during the day? Really, the window treatment needs to be addressed BIG TIME!

Bunker in a mansion

We were in a basement room, which we did not expect. It was dark with a very small window at the top of the wall. The bed was comfortable and the room had good amenities including a full kitchen, sofa, and dining table, but it was not at all cozy or inviting. It felt like a well appointed bunker. I have to assume that rooms on the upper floors are more inviting. It was disappointing to stay in a grand old building and have the room be devoid of any character.

OK, but nothing more

The house is very unique and beautiful. But the breakfast area that used to be there is unfortunately gone. Our rooms were in a different building, The floors looked unfinished with holes in it and felt sticky to walk on. One of the curtains had a really bad orange stain all over. Plus: Big rooms with all appliances. The bed was too small for two. One of us slept at the couch.

Not amazing.

There was a very loud party happening in the event space. I asked when the party would end, as I had an early morning. The response was “hopefully soon. It’s an event rental space, so we have no control.” When the music finally stopped the person in the next room was snoring so loudly I had to turn the washing machine on to drown out the snoring. It was truly horrible.

Great location

Convenient to the red line metro, clean, and comfortable. I didn’t realize my unit was in the basement with very little natural light. The old fashioned elevator was cool but challenging to navigate with luggage. Gym was clean and well-ventilated but there are only two cardio machines - one stair, one treadmill. So it fills fast.

The staff was attentive and personable. The sofa in the room needed a deep cleaning or to be replaced, and so it added a dated and unclean feel to the room. The location is great, though a bit noisy.
