Good value and free parking

Excellent reception when checking in. Lots of help offered for getting around and recommendations of what to do. The hotel was useful when bringing a car in that there was plenty of free parking on the street nearby and it seemed a safe area. With breakfast included, the hotel was clean, comfortable and for the one night we stayed, was excellent value for the price.

The hotel is very nice and well located for the European institutions. Staff was lovely and helpful and the in-room breakfast was delicious. I'm putting four stars instead of five because I did have some issues connecting to the Wifi - it's an unsecure network so my phone wouldn't let me connect and my laptop needed lots of persuading. I didn't try asking for help from staff though since I wasn't staying long, so I don't know if they could have solved it!

A bit far from town center, but OK overall

The hotel is located about 3 km from center of Strasbourg near the Orangerie park in a quiet area. Also the rooms are soundproof and we never heard any of our neighbors. It's nice to have a park nearby and free parking available on the street, although there are a few things worth noting: 1) choice of restaurants within walking distance is very limited. There is an Italian restaurant in the next building, two restaurants in the park (both were closed almost all the time during our stay) and a few bakeries and take away shops. Fortunately, Uber Eats and Deliveroo both deliver to the hotel. 2) only instant coffee is available for breakfast. 3) room had a few spaces with thick dust layers. We found a bottle left by other guests under the bed. One day cleaning took all the shower gels and soaps away from the room, but didn't bring any new, another day nobody came to clean the room at all (and when we returned we found that 'please make up my room' sign was reverted to 'do not disturb'). 4) we asked to fix a light bulb in the extractor fan, but nobody fixed it. 5) although initially we got a confirmation for a double bed in the room, we got two single beds upon arrival. After 2 days the hotel allowed us to change the room. 6) would be nice to have slippers/bathrobes in the room for that price. Overall, a good option when coming with a car.

Spacious and well located

Excellent location for the Council of Europe and the beautiful Orangerie park. Stayed with the family while attending meetings and the hotel was ideal for this. The room was extremely spacious, comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. It was also very quiet - ideal if you need a good sleep or are traveling with small children. There are a few areas where improvements might be made - the room needed a bit of maintenance (one of the balcony doors not working and a broken tile or two in the bathroom) and the breakfast could be improved (ran out of some items by 9am, and not much in the way of fresh fruit). But overall a good experience for the price, and ideal if you are looking for a spacious and quiet room. I will likely be returning.

Quiet hotel near a country park.

Quiet location about 25 min walk to city centre. 10 minute walk to the nearest tram stop with frequent service to city centre. Top tip hire a Veloped bicycle for the time of your stay - cycle paths everywhere and low hire cost (10 mins to city centre - no hills). Great city to explore - Strasbourg Passport best value. Hotel staff were very helpful. Breakfast was adequate - could be improved with higher quality products. Aircon noisy and not very effective. Shower and beds good. Hotel was busy but never noisy or crowded. Opposite a delightful country park open to the public.

Lovely aparthotel in a quiet, convenient location.

Great stay

The cleanliness of the room was outstanding. Great to get free wifi in the lobby so I could just work while having a drink. Slightly outside the busi-ness of the city which I liked. The tram stop was about a 10/15 minute walk but given the weather was so lovely it worked out ok....wouldn't be good in poorer weather though. Breakfast was fine too...cereals, bread, croissants, fruit, yoghurts etc. I'd definitely stay here again.

Overnight stop en route to Bavaria

Friendly and efficient check in. Spotless comfortable room. Nice safe location. I paid for private parking in secure garage (by that I mean you are given your own garage). Well worth it as area has tow away warning signs in the street. Street parking would be fine if you are away early in the morning. The breakwast was excellent too.

The Hotel was satisfactory, We found with locals how to get around via Tram about 15 to 20 min walk from hotel. A excellant tram system.and quite reasonable cost 4 Euros unlimited travel for 24 hours.

Lovely suites.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The suite was magnificent. The only thing I thought it would benefit from is either a door through to the toilet from the bathroom or a sink in with the toilet. You have to walk from the toilet all the way through the suite to the bathroom to wash your hands. The breakfast was good with a varied selection. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was good for where I wanted to be which was the University. However the restaurants nearby were not fantastic and the staff not particularly freindly.

Great combination of apartment & full 4 star hotel

The apartrments are just across the road from the beautiful Orangerie park. The Council of Europe and European Court of Human Rights are just the other side of the park, a lovely pleasant walk. The apartments were spotless, and well kept, and fully cleaned every day. The kitchenette has a cooktop,microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. All you need to look after yourself. Alternatively there is 24/7 room service, with reasonable prices. There is a hair-dryer, trouser press, spare pillows and blankets, internet access. large bathroom with toiletries, large balcony/terrace with table and chairs. There is a hot and cold buffet breakfast in the morning. The staff were pleasant and helpful. This was my second stay at Le Jean-Sebastian Bach - I've stayed in Strasbourg, for work, over 20 times. I would certainly recommend it, particularly if working at the European institution. I'll be back.
