We checked out after 30 minutes. Lady behind the desk was nice and apologetic but the place itself was really bad. It’s nothing like the pictures, stains everywhere in the room, stinks of smoke and weed, very dated and unsafe vibe about it. The place felt incredibly unsafe with only a flimsy lock to close the door. We wouldn’t have slept a wink that night so paid to go elsewhere at the last minute and checked out. Pictures of the place need updating. I’d say read the other recent reviews on here before you commit.

Disappointed

Located in a run down part of New Haven, essentially in a car park. Checked into the room and the smell of marajuana was overwhelming. The smell didn’t really dissipate in the the two nights we were there. The newly rented bated rooms in the picture may exist but we didn’t get one. Very old, battered kitchen appliances and just overall didn’t feel particularly clean. Disappointed!

Nothing to dislike. Wish we were staying more than 1 night. Spacious accommodation. Great shuttle service into New Haven. Pleasant surprise to find a hot light meal in the evening. Very helpful staff.

Great team at Village Suites.

The staff were fantastic - reception and also Tomas and Jose who shuttled me to work and back for the two weeks I was there were really nice. The living room furniture could do with a little updating but the flat was cleaned impeccably everyday and the breakfast helped with my early starts. Although it’s not downtown and there is next to nothing in the area - the free shuttle service runs all day to pick up and drop off from the hotel.

Bit outdated

Somewhat out of the way. Nearest convenience store 10 minutes by car. Good amenities in the kitchen though everything a bit jaded. Grumpy staff and basic breakfast.

Nice room but out if the way.

Nice hotel but the air con fan was very noisy and we had an issue with the noise from plumbing of neighbours rooms ( we were in room 124). Area was not convenient for restaurants or sightseeing - you needed a car to go anywhere. The nearest restaurant, Brazi's, was an 18minute walk, but was a good Italuan. The hotel complex offered snacks and frozen food and the breakfast was good.

Lots of space, but not much else

Delayed check in with no explanation, poor front desk staff experience, indifferent decor in the rooms, poor location with nothing around

Pleasant Home from Home

We stayed in one of suites, giving us more seclusion than the main hotel and providing a sense of living in a small estate of apartments. The split level suite was a pleasant surprise, with an upstairs open plan bedroom plus separate ensuite and a downstairs lounge / kitchen area plus bedroom with ensuite. There was plenty of space and everything worked. The heating system was however very noisy and we had to turn it off at night to get some sleep. It would be good if a teapot was provided for British visitors. We had to boil water in a saucepan to make ourselves tea. There was no washing up liquid on arrival, which we had to request from the main reception. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast room was a bit spartan and the food limited. Every morning we had to watch Queen Latifah on the TV in the breakfast room, which got a bit tedious after a week. Expedia and the Hotel were very understanding in refunding the first night's accommodation due to a change in our travel plans. Thanks for that.

Very nice hotel with very comfortable suites.

We arrived very tired and late at night the reception staff were very efficient, polite the perfect start to our holiday. Our suite was clean, tidy, warm and generous in size. The ladies who prepare breakfast were also welcoming, the only slight hicup was the house keeping staff, the irregular times they did or didn't come to the suite and whether or not we had enough towels and our beds made, I must say anything not right or missed was immediately rectified by the reception staff.

Large space and helpful staff, pity about location

The staff were very helpful and the suite was spacious and fine. The shuttle in to New Haven worked well but the location of the hotel is some way out of town and somewhat in the middle of nowhere. That said the price is excellent and as i say the staff were also very helpful.

Pleasant stay

Really nice friendly and helpful staff. Room was very comfortable. Lovely bed and good ensuite facility. Good amount of fitments in the room including a small kitchen. Loads of parking. Its a bit out of down town New Haven but they operate a shuttle bus to the city and you get a taxi back ($12 approx). Mike the shuttle bus driver was really friendly and knowledgable about the area and facilities. The reception staff were great when i needed assistance with some business/emails/scanning doc's etc in their well equipped business centre facility in reception. Good complementary breakfast available. Value for money; Yes. Would i recoommend it to a friend; Yes. Check out the burger bar "19" in Down town New Haven near Yale; very good food and nice atmosphere.

Good for visiting Yale University.

Despite having one of the world's top universities, New Haven isn't blessed with much good, affordable accommodation. The Premier Inn isn't flash but it is clean, quiet and does the job. We would use it again.

DEPRESSING!

The room itself was OK if a little outdated. The room had no natural light and was incredibly dark and gloomy. The design and furnishings were rather dated and dull but everything was very clean. The kitchen was a throw-back to the 80's but everything worked. The hotel itself is on an a commercial estate out of town next to the freeway and walking into New Haven involves walking through an industrial estate with no sidewalks. So, you have to drive.

Cosy and comfortable

We simply loved this place. The suites are unbelievably spacious, with huge fluffy beds, a massive cooker and fridge, lovely sofa, gigantic TV. The staff in th hotel were warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is generous, and there are free evening meals Mon-Thurs, free shuttle to town, free coffee all day, free internet and use of computer. Even though the temperatures plummeted and we had snow, we were cosy and comfortable. Just marvellous value for money and a really relaxing stay.

Would definitely not come back

The hotel description said that the hotel was newly refurbished. When we arrived the room was in desperate need of refurbishement. It was smelly and we could not sleep because of the fan outside the room. Although the staff kindly gave us a different room for the seond night and the odor in the room was better, the value for money was poor. The location of the hotel was atrocious (industrial and office area) and there was little day light in the room. The notice at the door from the inside said that for your safety please make sure to lock the doors! The price for what we got was astronomical! We would definitely not recommend the hotel and we definitely won't be back.
