Birr cottages

We were greeted by Marian upon our arrival who the showed my wife around the cottage. Although we hardly saw the hosts we were made to feel extremely welcome and that nothing would of been to much trouble for them. The home made scones were delicious.

Lovely little cottage in a great location.Plenty to see and do within an hours drive.The Slieve Bloom mountains and the Glenbarrow waterfall were a highlight and a must see.Giltraps pub was a great find as a watering hole as was Peavoys cafe for a coffee.The village animals 2 cats and a dog were both comical and friendly.Highly recommend a stay in Chris’ cottage in the heart of the underrated midlands of Eire.We will be back!

Lovely cottage in the Irish midlands. Marion was lovely, very helpful and she makes beautiful cakes. Beds were comfortable and there were great kitchen facilities. A little more remote than we anticipated but overall a comfortable and pleasant stay.
