Four of us -- myself, a friend from California, and my brother and sister-in-law -- had a most wonderful time staying at Kim and Jacob's fantastic cottage right on the beach at Akumal. We felt extremely well-looked after -- Edgar and Karen made sure everything was spick and span every day, and, being without a car, we were very grateful that Edgar could pick up groceries and take us to the ATM when necessary. We also had Edgar cook for us a few nights, which was super, and Kim's gifts of food and drink were highly appreciated! It's a really beautiful place -- extremely private, with its own little lagoon in front, but easy to walk to the softer sands to the left of the property to get deeper into the water for a good swim when you wish. And then you can walk 3 minutes to the right to Jungle Fish for dinner when you fancy a change (we enjoyed dancing to the lively cover band one night!). Very very tranquil -- we read, did yoga, played Scrabble, drank wine and talked -- and never stopped marvelling at the beauty of the location: thank you so much for everything, Kim and Jacob!

House directly on the beach, extraordinarie views and excellent service!

We spent 9 days at Luna Caribe in September as a family with 2 grown up children, so having 3 bedrooms/bathrooms was great. We had travelled from Cancun and Valladolid, so had a hire car which is recommended as the apartment is half way between the town and the beach, a good 2km from each. Denis and Carolyn provided lots of useful information before we arived. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a quiet complex with great outdoor pool, we had this to ourselves when we were there. It also has 2 outdoor areas, both having eating space, loungers, chairs with the benefit of a jacuzzi on the roof. We found the apartment spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything we might need. All very homely with artwork on the walls adding a nice personal touch. All in all, highly recommended. This condo has everything; space, views, brilliantly equipped within a 5 minute walk to the beach & restaurants and spotlessly clean. Rosemary the owner has incredibly helpful with information about the accommodation and the area. The directions were spot on. We were a party of 5 and had masses of space but as the master bedroom suite is so gorgeous it would be a perfect honeymoon spot too. A couple of tips. We really enjoyed Happy Hour at the Bakery and the food was great too. If you want to snorkel with the turtles (a must really) ignore all the touts selling overpriced tours and slip on your mask & snorkel at 8am one morning. The Cheduri supermarket in Tulum is worth the 20 minute drive. Highly recommend.
