Rustic Cabin on Cacapon River for Private Getaway

Hosts know this well. Your worst reviews come from your subpar guests. In fact, I violated my own rule and gave them 5 stars because I didn't inspect the range yet (because they weren't authorized tobuse it) and the cabin was left okay. They didn't follow the rules and left hamburgers in the cabin and trash in the trash can...both attracting rodents and bear that damage the cabin and rip screens but I was willing to let it go. Much more seriously, in viomation of explicit range rules provided them, they shot on the range without getting authorization and did not sign the release forms. Further, they left logs in my field after shooting which damages mowers and equipment and pushed over a barricade. Hindsight is 20/20. As for the fire pit, it is outdoors and when it rains the ground gets muddy. I can't control the weather. As for the porta john. It's an outhouse at a rustic cabin as advertised. I guess the summary as a host is I'd be hesitant to rent to them despite my initial review. The failure to follow range firearm rules in particular gets a lifetime range ban. Had I known they used the range prior to completing their review I would have given one star. We take range safety extremely seriously and had we given others permission to hike or camp without knowing there was a hot range that would have created a hazard I won't tolerate.
