Opportunities for fun, relaxation and distraction abound. ***This condo is 2 stories with the lower level (bedrooms) not wheelchair accessible*** This 2 bedroom condo has a King size master and 3/4 bath in one room, a full bath (full size shower stall, but no tub) in the main lower level and a Full Size bunk bed with a twin on top and pull out twin trundle bed if you need extra space. Fully remodeled kitchen, complete with toaster oven, microwave, stove, water purifier and cafe nespreso machine. Off site laundry available for a nominal fee with our concierge. Full Restaurant/Bar poolside. Snorkeling, Surfing, Swimming, Sailing, Fishing, Dancing, Nightlife, Zipline, Parasailing, Jet Ski, Tequila Tasting, Jewelry Shopping (Silver is major commodity here), Aquarium, Baseball, Zoo, Eating (known for their shrimp), visit state of the art Liverpool Mall (with Starbucks) and just absorb the culture.

After spending 1 month in a deplorable living experience, here are some of the highlights, we encountered to put it mildly. We have photos to prove our rating. We believe Vrbo should of done it’s due diligence. Excellent location

Very good location on the beach, easy walking to everything you need if your not renting a car.. Unit needs replacement small appliances soon there just worn out.. no balconies in this building. Internet was poor during my stay

Isla del Sol was great, unit not so great

We have stayed at Isla del Sol a couple of times now and love it. The staff and food are amazing. Unfortunately, the unit we stayed in had all kinds of issues. I left the owner several messages letting her know about the issues with no response. There are many other options available in Isla del Sol, rent those this one is not worth the grief and inconvenience.

the building was a disaster, the elevator was broken, so was the wifi, TV, toaster oven, coffee mak

It is an old building that is very run down, the elevator would not go to our floor so we had to walk down each day, on weekends there was sometimes up to 50 non-guests in the pool, unit cleaning was poor, we contemplated leaving early but we had spent so much money we were committed to the stay. i would not recommend EVER staying at this particular location or unit, EVER.

Only 1 air conditioner downstairs worked out of 3. Upstairs..had to have door and window open when upstairs, otherwise stifling hot. Lots of useless, clutter items in condo. Needs a deep clean and purge..ie:shopping bag in china cabinet had a used shower curtain in it with rusted curtain rings?!. Ocean view would be good if windows weren't so dirty. We had to clean them as best we could with what was here. The concierge and little restaurant/bar were great and accommodating by pool area. Ocean was wonderful to swim in, but boogie board in unit was broken. Owner needs to do some work on things here.

Mazatlan Condo

The condo at Islas del Sol was a great place to stay for three weeks. The sound of the waves at night was very soporific and the pool was pleasant. The other guests were very friendly, and many knew each other as they had come for the same time-share for many years. The apartment was pretty well as shown in the pictures, although some things are getting a bit dated. I would recommend the purchase of new toaster and pillows (terrible quality) and perhaps either wash or get some new curtains and cushion covers (stained). The maid service was a pleasure, and having a great restaurant downstairs was wonderful. Thank you to William, who brought our dinners upstairs to us when we were feeling very under the weather! So, all in all, a nice stay. Would come again if we return to Mazatlan

The pictures did not reflect the condition of the room. We were very unhappy with the accommodations in general. The master bath was very small about the size of a camp trailer bathroom! The other bathroom had lights that worked some of the time, and the light in the shower fell out when we tried to check the bulb ( the entire light fixture fell down exposing wires) No counter space, and toilet lid would not go all the way up and stay because of an odd designs and placement. The kitchen was nice, but there were no laundry facilities as stated. The pool was very small and with some kids in it, it made it crowded to just relax. The room was noisy because of location of room/pool. it took 2 weeks to get the internet working, very frustrating. The owner did not contact us later in our stay, I requested a call from her several times. The phone never did work. The AC in the master blew right on the bed, we both got a respiratory condition and we think it was from the direct hit of AC. Also the AC from above dripped onto the bedroom AC and I could not sleep because of the constant dripping noise! Over priced for what we got. On a good note the view was great, close to everything, and we met some really nice people.

My husband and I stayed for a month. It was great. The pictures look just like the condo. Kathy is very responsive. I had some medical issues and thank goodness for Kathy's book. She had some references and the concierge helped me get in contact with a Dr. who, get this Americanos, made a housecall for $25US dollars. Maid came twice a week. Restaurant is ok....I would stay again. Bed was comfy. Master bedroom air conditioning was not working when we arrived. The maintenance came right up and replaced air conditioner. By time we returned from pool it was replaced. All our needs were met quickly and efficiently. Security is there as well as a life guard

Accommodations were very nice and comfortable. Beautiful view. Everyone at Isla del Sol were super nice and helpful. It was so good to have a faucet at the kitchen sink for drinkable water. Restaurant there was very good, as well as many within walking distance. Ventilation was very good and didn't need to turn on AC.

We are writing our review of the condo owned by long term friends at their request after they received a poor review from the guest visiting the day before our arrival. The owner didn't ask us to write about the complaints of the previous guest, but as we were there the day after they left, we thought we would be best to address their complaints. We arrived on the heels of these guests and found that they had under booked their stay for their return flight. They were quite disgruntled and told others that the owner was unable to give them an extra day, which they asked be free, due to our planned arrival and that they had to find alternate accommodations. Upon our arrival we heard from both staff and neighbors that these previous guests had complained almost daily throughout their trip and it appeared the tile issue they reference was created by them overflowing the portable washing machine days into their stay. The owner notified us immediately they would no longer be able to make this available due to misuse, which is understandable once you saw the obvious recent damage. This was resolved in 24 hours during our stay. The furniture we know was purchased about 2 years ago and we also noticed the sun damage to 2 of the pieces (the other farthest from the window was perfect). 1 piece was sent for repair during our stay and the other to be repaired when guests weren't booked so we had no inconvenience. There are multiple access portals for the internet on every floor of the building and including the pool and lobby. Instructions are in the book provided by the owner by the TV. This condo is amazing and so close to the ocean. If you open up the windows, the whole living room is like being on a balcony. All the other guests of the resort are so friendly and helpful and like family. This condo is in amazing condition with updated kitchen, living room and bedrooms. It has modern appliances and well stocked supplies. It is Mexico and sitting on the ocean, so we would never be surprised by the sun and salt air affects on anything inside the condo (like the couch) which is why the furniture is always covered with Mexican blankets, as the owner requests. I have spoken to Kathy and the guest before us was the worst experience she has had renting out the condo. I hope she won't change her mind and will continue to open her home to us and others.

The overall property was good. Old but fairly well maintained. Staff was freindly and helpfull.

My apologizes but I cannot give a good review for the unit we stayed in. Too many issues to deal with. First the internet did not work. Had to piggyback off other units. Had to have all the piping in main bathroom replaced and repaired 3 times. Had the taps in ensuite repaired twice and still leaked. The tiles in master bedroom were lifting and one was completely broken. Had the light fixture in main bathroom repaired and then replaced a few days later. The cupboards had a musty smell from all the food stuffs left from either the owner or other guests. The fridge the same. None of the phones in the unit worked. Had to have the RO system under kitchen sink repaired as woke up to a large pool of water one morning. The living room furniture has seen better days. Not very happy with unit. Visited units of friends in other resorts. No comparison. Much more homey and comfortable and for a lot less money. Overall the whole complex was good. The staff was excellent but the unit we had put a damper on the whole trip. Spent as little time there as possible. The unit needs some major TLC.

Soothing sun and amazing view

What can I say? The beach and sun are amazing. The condo is cozy and feels like home, not a hotel. So nice buying some groceries to keep on hand or making myself and early morning coffee, but knowing I can pop downstairs or across the street and have so many dining options. Lounging at the pool, sipping a margarita from the bar, soaking in the sun while listening to the ocean splash on the sand a few feet away, nothing says vacation like that. I don't know what you're looking for, but if it's a peaceful beach getaway or an escape from the cold, this is heavenly. Even one day when the wind picked up a bit, from the window I could have lunch or just stare out a full window of ocean. This condo is a great location and a steal of a deal for long term renters. You can para-sail right outside, or rent a jet ski, or golf across the street if you need something to do, but it is likely you'll fall into the relaxing pace here and just enjoy the warm soothing sunshine.

Incredibly relaxing

It is literally just off the ocean. You can hear the waves crash as you sit in the living room, or bedrooms. Or sit by the pool and look out over the amazing expanse of endless waves. You must watch the sun rise or set over the water. There's also plenty of good food nearby, across the street, down the beach or simply down by the pool as you relax by waves.

Ocean is right there

Perfect spot. Restaurants all around you. Bar and food poolside. Walk the beach all day long. Soak up the sun. Peaceful. You can see the waves from every room except the main bathroom. Love that this is a home not a live out of your suitcase place.

Why they chose this property

Because I can see, smell and hear the waves from my sofa. There is nothing like this. The community is like a family and misses you when you are away.

What makes this property unique

You can walk almost anywhere you would need to go. If it's too far or you want to buy ice cream to enjoy later, you can catch the bus steps from the lobby or hail a taxi or pulmonia. The concierge will also schedule a taxi for you. Walking distance you can book tours or attractions as well. So many choices so close by that you could eat out (and the price is soooo reasonable) every night and not get bored.
