About the host
Hosted by Kyle Purer
Hi, I'm Kyle. I moved to Ivywild with my daughter as a single full-time dad in 2008, that period of my life was tough, but precious. At one point I was able to purchase the house next door, which turned into "the Ivywild House". . I've called Colorado Springs home since 1999, having fallen in love with the Rocky Mountain charm of our hometown. It's so beautiful to see Garden of the Gods in the distance, the Westminster chimes from Cheyenne mountain chiming, and the sunsets over the front range. I would love to help guide and be a resource for your group when you arrive, there's really too much to do here, and I would love to share with you the other cool places and things to do in town. If you have a question or need a recommendation on anything, we are right there to help!
Be assured that the house is what it represents itself to be; a clean, comfortable and open place in a great location, with friendly people all around. The place is immaculately cared for, and details are attended to. Instagram: I post pictures of the area to #Ivywild_House . . We have hosted families and friends for holiday vacations, reunions, graduations, weddings, sports team meets, and have helped to make reservations, find scenic drives, and have planned a special drive through the mountains. Yes - Trip Advisor and the tourist office will certainly give you an idea of the town; we compliment this advice by giving you some local, neighborly advice on what there is really to see and do. . So let me welcome you personally to our house in Ivywild.
Why they chose this property
Why this Property?
- Because of all the quality reviews, we have a reputation for doing well for your family.
-- Because we are doing this for the fun, not the bottom line. I want to provide a limited-edition experience for your group.
--Because we are committed to healthy and a safe vacation home and are an underdog owner operated property in Colorado Spring.
These are the types of families that have stayed:
-- We hosted a long term group that stayed for 3 months (Feb-May) & just worked from home, safely.
-- We've hosted business groups that have a convention at the Broadmoor, because we are close by and provide needed value.
-- We've hosted many families celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Some families have a function at the Broadmoor and it's easy to "be a little further from them".
--One family used the house as a base for their extended family to celebrate a USAF graduation.
- Our Christmas and New Years families have often cooked up a batch of posole or tamales in the kitchen.
- Our thanksgiving families - no matter how hard I try to steer them to the Edelweiss for dinner, often just cook a homemade turkey feat in the kitchen.
--Another group appreciated the neighborhood with breweries, and that they could walk to it and refill a growler jug there, and bring the beer home.
--We have hosted a group of young Olympians, who were staying for training / nationals (shotgun and skating). We have also hosted skating teams, swimming teams.
