The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, pots, pans, dishes and all other kitchen utensils needed for a great stay. The kitchen and living area as well as the deck looks out on to “World Famous” Magen’s Bay with a down Island view of the the other down Islands. The bathroom is updated and the bedroom has a double bed.

Most visitors that we’ve host seem all to appreciate the peace and quiet of awaking every morning to the great view and the amenities that we offer. Guest will have access to hi speed wi fi. The apartment has all the amenities you would expect at home. The deck large and open for guest enjoyment.

The people in the neighborhood are generally very friendly people who really enjoy living and being in the warm weather in the Caribbean’s. The property is featured with the Caribbean in mind. The property was destroyed in the late 90’s by Hurricane Marylyn, but was restored and put together again with much more strength as we endured Hurricane Maria and Irma. So we feel grateful and want to our place with you. WELCOME!!

Recommend that you rent a car. Taxis are a bit expensive. There is no public transportation on the Upper Northside of St Thomas We recommend a small compact cars. The street is narrow but adequate and owner will not be responsible for damages resulting from on street parking.

Photos of this place are not accurate

This Place is very hard to find, address is not accurate for the location. Spent 4 hours trying to find the place, could not get in touch with the owner, called homaway, they could tell me how to get there either. They also tried to get in touch with the owner and could not reach him either. He finally called me after hours of trying to find this place. The road is full of Large craters not suitable for a car to drive on. There was not sufficient parking, and had to park along the road in a partial ditch to avoid my rental car from being hit. The apartment has serious issues, cold water faucet in shower is stripped and very hard to turn, sink in bathroom leaks, sink in kitchen leaks, microwave is on top of the fridge and you have to stand on a chair if you want to use it. The back door leading out to the back deck has numerous screws sticking out through the outer part of the door that I got cut by.The screen door is missing from the front, and you can't get any breeze to cool off the place, only one window, ceramic floor in bedroom area has Large cracks. This place was to be sufficient for up to 3 guests, there was not enough cups, bowls, plates or towels to accommodate 1 person let alone 3! I do not recommend staying here! Photos are deceiving and need to be updated!

Response from VrboOwner on 18 Jul, 2021
My guest says she lived here for many years and she knew my exact location. So while she was away we had two hurricanes and some of the road have yet to be repaired. She told me she had been a house sitter for two owners on the Island, but she would not produce the names of the owners or references. She also insisted that we not communicate on the VRBO site, wherefore, I insisted that I could not communicate unless there was a booking in place. She refuse to purchase the $59.00 insurance coverage to protect the owner for damages. She insisted on paying the $1,500 refundable deposit, and within a day decided she did not want charge against her credit card, I agreed to refund the $1500 back to here credit if agreed to a $500 refundable deposit. She agreed, but never never attempted to pay the deposit. When asked to pay the deposit she refused until Colena from VRBO wrote her regarding the payment. Upon her arrival, although, the designated parking for Sunrise” the pad in front of the apartment, she would not park there, but parked out front taking much more space required for parking and jamming up parking for the other Guest. The Guest and her girlfriend seem to have to clearly had a problem a problem communicating, for example, the very first night she claims there was only one cup one bowl and one drinking and no wine glasses and before she could finish telling what was not there her girlfriend interrupts, to say what she thought was missing, I thought that was a bit disrespectful, for where I’m from if someone is talking and you want to speak, we would always say excuse me. It wasn’t a big deal, but it kinda let me know who I’m dealing with. Within minutes I brought them cups bowls, glasses and everything she requested and later that day she wanted a pitcher so she could make tea. I went downtown and bought a new pitcher, and “wouldn’t you know it” she say’s the pitcher had a hole in the bottom. So got them another picture and around the same time she wanted more towels, I brought them 2 clean towels. Left them on the chair at the door. I left the property for a few hours and when I returned the towels were on the ground near my apartment. I didn’t understand what the problem was but I sensed they wanted to start some kind of altercation. So I left it alone and remained vigilant as the rambunctious noise from there apartment continued to grow. I’m sorry this ended as it did. But sometimes, people show up with other goals rather than having “FUN”.

Overall experience: Positive in every way. Comfortable accommodation, beautiful environment, hospitable people, lovely weather, engaging activities. Suggestions: Knowing the cottage was in Northstar Village would have helped with finding it the first time. Having an English (in addition to Spanish) "person unavailable, please leave message" statement on Mr. Shropshire's phone would also have have helped with initial contacts and requests for guidance when we were lost just after arriving. Even more useful: detailed directions for finding the cottage, keeping in mind that navigating in St. Thomas relies on landmarks such as fences, signs, mango trees, bougainvillea bushes. If visitors hire cars, they should select a front wheel drive compact or subcompact to most effectively travel on the island's roads. Henry was a hospitable host. We enjoyed our stay.
