How about spending a vacation in a country house that is very close to the city and all tourist activities?

While in the center people live a normal and fast city life, in the high zones, near the mountains, the calm and country atmosphere is a reality. In this small villa composed by three nice properties you can enjoy all the calm and serenity with a wide view of the Atlantic Ocean and Funchal.
This small ‘farmhouse’ has three stone-walled houses, with different typologies and surrounded by small gardens. The houses have the name of trees that exist in our island.
This house has two bedrooms, one with two single beds and the other with a double bed. It has two bathrooms, one with shower and the other with bathtub.
The house has a kitchenette and is fully equipped.
Maximum capacity of four people.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
In the Choupana area you will find a restaurant which is a 2-minute drive from the property. The nearest bakery is a 5-minute drive away and the supermarket is a 10-minute drive away, close to the city center.
The city center is a 15-minute by car.
The area is calm and quiet. From here you can travel to any part of the island through the municipal roads that have connection to the highway.
Renting a car is the best option to discover the island at your own pace.

GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property is by transfer. Ask us to arrange one with our local partners. It's cheaper than the cabs you'll find at the airport. If you rent a car, any navigation app will easily find the address.

GUEST ACCESS
Guests have access to all areas of the flat.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (E.g. passport, identity card).
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance. In case the check-in is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours prior arrival, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide a crib, a baby high chair and a baby bathtub if needed. First aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket are available in all properties.

ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

A nice and beautiful appartment.

A nice and beautiful appartment pretty high up the hill with a good vieuw. The only thing that we really disliked was the bed. For us it was way to hard and there for uncomfortable to sleep on.

Bed duvet and pillows very stained. Need fans especially in bedroom Very very steep difficult driveway plants need trimming were scraping car sides Lighting very poor. Could not read due to poor lighting Key not in lock box on our second visit. My husband had to climb over the gate.

Das Haus liegt zwar mit tollem Ausblick in einem schönen Garten. Es ist allerdings feucht und es riecht nach Schimmel. Leider hatten wir auch eine Maus zu Gast, die wir bis zum Ende nicht mehr los wurden. Bei Starkregen kam das Wasser aus der Decke. Schade, denn das Haus wÀre sonst sehr schön.

Gute Ruhige Lage.

Das Objekt liegt etwas abgelegener ĂŒber Funchal. Die Strasse dorthin ist sehr steil, ein Fahrzeug mit etwas mehr kraft ist von Vorteil, aber auch mit einem kleineren im ersten Gang machbar. :D der Garten ausserhalb des Objektes ist sehr schön und voller Natur. Auch kleine Hasen hoppeln herum. Innen ist das Objekt ein wenig Renovierung bedĂŒrftig und auf die Sauberkeit könnte man noch etwas mehr achten, aber an sich ist das Haus sehr schön. HauptsĂ€chlich ist man ja wegen der Natur dort und die ist auf Madeira wundervoll.

Nos costĂł un poco llegar al alojamiento por lo empinadas que son las calles, recomiendo ir con un coche con buen motor, ya que la subida es considerable, pero sin duda la estancia allĂ­ merece la pena. El dueño muy simpĂĄtico nos ayudĂł el primer dĂ­a en la entrada. Para bajar al centro de Funchal tambiĂ©n se puede ir en autobĂșs, ya que hay una parada cercana de la lĂ­nea 29 al final de la calle cortada, siguiendo el camino y bajando unas escaleras (ojo, porque la parada de autobĂșs que hay al inicio de la calle por la que se accede en coche al alojamiento no es la que estĂĄ operativa actualmente). La finca donde estĂĄ el alojamiento es preciosa, muy bien distribuida para dar a cada casita su intimidad, rodeada de una vegetaciĂłn y unas hortensias exuberantes, entre otras plantas y arboles frutales y dispone de zonas de aparcamiento. La casita (Tilia) estĂĄ muy bien distribuida, equipada con lo bĂĄsico necesario y las habitaciones muy cĂłmodas. La posibilidad de levantarse con la vista del mar al fondo y desayunar en el exterior de la casita con la tranquilidad del lugar y el canto de los pĂĄjaros ha sido muy relajante. Sin duda volverĂ­a.

Beautiful spot, unfortunately that's where it stops.

I am very rarely negative about an accommodation. During our stay i tried contacting the renters/my assigned contact about everything in this review but to no avail. Not a single reply. I also filled in their own 'what can we do better' and 'comments' form, which also gave me no reply except an automated message. I understand that not everything can be perfect all the time, but this had such a negative impact on our holiday and the following radio silence turned me to this review. Let me start by saying that the location is absolutely fantastic. You have a beautiful garden where you can walk around and nearly next to the houses you can have a magnificent panoramic view of Funchal. The nearby stadium is no problem at all. The great and quiet location was unfortunately constantly disturbed by about 20 dogs of the houses down the road. I am not exaggerating when i'm saying that most of these dogs were barking all day long and partially during the night. The back bedroom didn't hear much of this, but in the front you hear it loud and clear. This combined with very hard beds didn't make sleeping very comfortable. I myself like hard beds, but this was just plain uncomfortable. One of us actually slept on the couch. The whole house has a serious moisture issue. You can smell it when you come inside and and feel it everywhere. I am not talking high air moisture, that's normal on the island. I'm talking serious ventilation problems. Mold is creeping up walls, which were covered up and camouflaged by paint. By the looks of it this gets done regularly. One of the bedrooms had it the most. We slept there, and my girlfriend, who has astma, had a serious cough the whole stay. Also; there appears to be a sewer leak in front of the driveway (where we parking our car). Every morning there is a medium amount of fluid there, which smells like sewer. Not a great start of the day. The stove is outdated and kinda broken. The flames are rather dangerous and inconsistent.

Romantic house with view and tranquility

A wonderfull place to stay in Madeira. We were "at home" in Tilia, one of the three houses of the property. The house is situated in the middle of a lush garden, with no view of the neighbours, but with a great view of the sea. It is well equipped for 4 people. Good to know: Tilia is located high above Funchal, about the same height as Monte. A rental car is an advantage. We loved the house for its romantic location and tranquillity.

Sweet little houses surrounded by an beautiful Garden. Its a little bit tricky to get there but the view is worth it. The houses are cosy! It could be a little bit cleaner but its ok. The Staff is very friendly and you get a lot of Informations about activities.
