We ❤️ it here, very relaxing and easy in and out with our boat.
We loved our stay on Pitchwood Island! John and Judy were such gracious hosts. They live right next door and greeted us with cocktails. We had a wonderful tour of the Island from Judy and both she and John were full of information and interesting facts. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves 🌊. We would definitely recommend staying here!!!
John and Judy were wonderful hosts. They were very responsive and helpful in all aspects of our trip. Realizing they cannot control the weather, the week was as relaxing as we had hoped.
Their lakeside home is as advertised - a lovely home with an awesome sunset view.
We would recommend this beautiful home to all!
Thank you John and Jusy!
The listing was spot on. Everything was just as advertised. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather! Front/water side of house has full width sliding doors overlooking the lake with a wraparound deck, slightly shaded by a hemlock. The dock area was great. A bit of shade to sit and tuck under by the shoreline. One side has a large piece of ledge that made it easy to dip in and out of and the other side for docking. The location has close proximity to calm coves for tubing, swimming, and fishing. The fishing was excellent - caught many lake trout and bass. Judy and John were awesome hosts - we felt like we were staying at a friend's house.
We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home! Best spot on lake Winni! Gorgeous views and close to everything. John and Judy were fabulous hosts
We had a lovely time here relaxing, kayaking, swimming, and sunbathing. The location was lovely- a very quick boat ride into Meredith from this beautiful and quiet island. The owners were very kind and helpful and available when needed. Would definitely stay again.
This was our first time to stay at Lake Winnipesaukee and we are so grateful that we found this property. The house is located just steps from the lake. Our children, ages 14 and 12, had a great time swimming and fishing from the docks and making use of the kayaks.
Being on an island made this property extra special for us. It really added to the "getaway" experience. At night we could fall asleep to the sounds of the lake water lapping on the shore and were fortunate enough to see a full moon over the lake in the evening.
The owners provided excellent service and communication. We would most definitely return here and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from things.
We spent a week on Pitchwood in early July and had a great time - and a truly memorable experience.
Despite a few dodgy weather days we spend every day out exploring the lake, swimming, fishing and just having fun. Our boys are 10 and 12 and especially enjoyed swimming and fishing around the dock and obviously being out tubing and swimming off the boat.
The property is perfect - the main house is cosy with a great deck for sitting and eating. The bunkhouse is very comfortable and our boys felt they were virtually camping - with real beds !
Great kitchen and grill and the WiFi worked for streaming Netflix in the eves. Kayaks and paddle boat make for additional fun.
Its an island, so you need a boat - but you could manage without if you are a Robinson Crusoe type!
Great place!
Judy and John were great and responsive hosts - thanks!
My family of four had a terrific unique experience while spending a week vacationing on Pitchwood Island. We brought our own boat and spent many hours aboard it exploring the beautiful and enormous Lake Winnipesaukee. Not having a car immediately available, it was left on the "mainland", had us using the boat in more ways than I ever imagined. We went for several meals to restaurants in several of the towns along the lake as well as making quick jaunts for ice cream and other treats. We spent time wakeboarding and fishing from the boat as well. The house had a pedal boat and four kayaks that we also took advantage of during our stay. I would certainly recommend a vacation like this to any adventurous couple or family looking for a different type of vacation, the one caveat being that having a boat is a must. We brought our 20 foot bowrider which worked out great, I guess someone without a boat could find a rental for a week but I'm not sure about that.
