About this property

Beautiful Lake Michigan Beachfront Location


Enjoy gorgeous views and your own quiet private beach along one of the prettiest stretches of the Lake Michigan lakeshore. A long wooded drive leads to this cute 3 bedroom cottage. You'll find a grassy lawn, colorful flowers, 2 tables for outdoor dining, and a covered cookhouse for the gas grill. Steps lead directly from the front lawn down to the beach and fire pit. The medium height bluff allows for spectacular views, yet our stairs and bridge to the beach are easily walkable for most people.

We have bath towels, beach towels and bedding available--- or bring your own if you wish. The Cottage is 6 miles south of charming Pentwater and 6 miles north of Silver Lake Dunes. Ludington is 20 miles to the north, Hart 10 miles to the south.

Our main attraction is, of course, our private beach and the lake--- but the Pentwater area has much more to offer. You can enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds: golfing, fishing, horseback riding, sailing, dune rides, hiking, and so on. Don't miss a visit to town, where you can browse charming galleries and shops. One of the best things about the area is the abundance of fresh food you can find. Pick blueberries, visit farm markets, or a dairy farm with amazing ice cream. You can find fresh and smoked fish and a bakery with the best pies on the planet. We'll provide directions.

Wonderful Beach Cottage

We had the most amazing time at the cottage, on the beach, and in Pentwater. Everything was accurately described and the cottage was stocked with everything we needed. The sunsets were outstanding. We hope to return in the future.

Perfect spot for the quintessential Lake Michigan experience. A true "lake cottage" with beautiful views and a spectacular sandy beach. Close enough to several towns for a night out, but grill makes staying in work too. Close to Hart-Montague bike trail. We loved having access to kayaks and paddleboards too. Would 100% stay again!

Beautiful spot on the beach

We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay on Lake Michigan. There was plenty of sandy beach to enjoy plus the kayaks and paddle boards. The rooms were cozy and wifi was good enough for my husband to work. I loved the little spots to eat outside or enjoy a book. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Beautiful get away!

Had an absolutely amazing relaxing week. Awesome views of Lake Michigan right from the kitchen table. Clean and comfortable made you feel like you were right at home. The private beach was very nice to relax and catch some rays. Definitely will be returning.

Great beach vacation

I enjoyed walking the beach every day with our pet. The yard offered plenty of comfortable seating, and the beach chairs offered a peaceful view of the lake.

Heaven on a Hill

This cottage is such a cute, quiet place to stay! It has all the basics for you to have a nice little place to stay for a week. Judy and Doug were super helpful and very responsive to our needs and questions. Awesome people. Beautiful beach. Would recommend and visit again!

Beautiful, relaxing summer getaway

What a great vacation our family had at the Midsummer Retreat Lake Michigan home. Judy could not have been more accommodating throughout the entire rental process. The home itself had everything we needed, but the weather was perfect the entire week so we spent most of our time outside enjoying the lakeside views from a variety of different vantage points. We enjoyed sitting in the grassy, wooded area by the house watching the hummingbirds as well as grilling and eating at the picnic table in the evening watching the sunset over the lake. Then we were also able to go down a set of stairs to the dunes with super soft sand and a set of adirondack chairs, again with an incredible view. In the evenings we took advantage of the firepit in the sand where we enjoyed gazing at the stars and even had a great view of the meteor shower. Then of course we also were able to set our chairs right down along the water where we had our own private beach. The kids (and parents) loved being able to take out the sea kayaks and even were able to do some paddleboarding which was a lot of fun. We could not believe how clear blue the water was and how soft the sand was. It is only a few miles from Silver Lake Dunes and one day we took the morning and rented Dune buggies to buzz around the dunes which was a blast. We were truly sad to leave as it was such a relaxing place to kick back and relax for the week. Our 3 teenagers loved it and went the whole time without even turning the tv on even one time. That is saying something. Thanks again for sharing your home with us.

Great Family Vacation Spot

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay at this cabin. From the moment we pulled up to the home, we could tell that the owners love and care for their property. The flowers, landscaping and the view! All so wonderful. The cabin was perfect for our family of 6. It was clean, comfortable and we never once felt cramped. Loved the well stocked kitchen, the use of the bed linens, towels and laundry on site. We enjoyed the beach, the firepit, kayak and the amazing sunsets every night. The owners were super kind and helpful. Answering every question promptly and with so much kindness. The location was perfect for us, close to Pentwater, Ludington and Silver Lake Dunes. We have such fond memories of this vacation. Thank you so much for offering your family home to us. We hope to be back in the future.

Private Beachfront and gorgeous lake views! 1 1/3 wooded acres. The Village of Pentwater is beyond charming and there is much to discover and enjoy in the area.

Above all, this cottage is for beach lovers!!!

What makes this property unique

This is a very quiet location (well, except for the 4th of July!). There are neighbors, but you may or may not see them. You will probably see some beach walkers strolling along the shoreline--- but other than that, our stretch of the beach will be for you alone.
