Beautiful 5 bedroom home on 23 acres of woods, dunes and 500+ feet of private pure sandy lakeshore to explore. Home has soaring ceilings and full height lakefront glass bringing the outdoors inside. Three of the five bedrooms have lakefront views. Whether enjoying the warm sandy beach in the summer, vibrant colorful bike rides in the fall or snowshoeing the lakeshore in the winter, this home will not disappoint. Grab your book, brew a coffee and sit to watch the snowflakes fall or throw your swimsuit on , snag a towel and head to the beach. Enjoy the three levels of cozy heated floors to take the chill off or evening breezes at the end of a Michigan summer day. Home is also air conditioned when those wonderful lakeshore breezes aren't enough.

Local attractions (if you can drag yourself away from the lake) include:
* Silver Lake Sand Dunes (10 minutes): Adventure. Dune buggy rentals, 4 wheelers, jet ski's, bike rentals. Highly recommend the Mac Woods Dune Ride.
* Pentwater (15 minutes): Shopping, dining, fish charters. Highly recommend Cosmic Candy & Storybook Village (children's interactive book store).
* Michigan Adventure: Amusement Park and Water Park. (30 minutes). See www.miadventure.com
* JJ Ranch & Resort: (20 minutes) Snow Tubing, Golf, Indoor & Outdoor Waterparks, Horseback riding, 18 miles of trails
* Ludington State Park: (30 minutes) Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing, Shopping
* Hat Montague Trail (15 minutes): If you are a bike enthusiast, this is a wonderful 22 mile trail to ride and stop at the Country Dairy for lunch along the ride.
* Caberfae Peaks Ski Resort or Crystal Mountain (1.5 hrs.)

Additional amenities at the house include kayaks, paddle boards, 4 beach chairs, and a basketball hoop for little shooters and big shooters alike.

Dining table seats 10 plus 4 stools at counter on main floor. Second kitchen in the lower level has additional refrigerator and counter seating for 4. Many kids toys on lower level for the younger ones to play with during peak sun breaks make this great for families with kiddos.

Early risers can enjoy nature walks and wildlife each morning as you see birds, bunnies, deer, turkey, and even an occasional fox perusing the dune and property. Lake Michigan is also a Monarch migration path so you will see many Monarchs around the property and the back field of the property is a butterfly habitat with lots of milkweed, its great in late July to see caterpillars and butterflies on your nature walks!

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Please remove flat & fitted sheets and pillow cases and place in the provided laundry hamper. Leave comforters on bed.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Full week rental required July-August.

Our second stay

My 5 yeat old grandson spoke for all of us when he said, "I really like this giant house." This year we were able to enjoy the beautiful beach on the warmer days. On the cooler days we worked puzzles, watched the sunset, played with the kids, went on dune rides, visited the indoor water park, and enjoyed Lewis' Adventure Zoo. We had a wonderful vacation!

We enjoyed our stay from start to finish! This is the most well stocked VRBO! The owners have taken the time to make sure everything you need is available. The back porch has the best spot for the most stunning sunsets. The kids loved all of the beautiful nature and beach surrounding the house! It is true Michigan!

The house is beautiful. Plenty of space for 3 generations to relax and recreate. The kitchen was well stocked. When we did venture away from the house, there was plenty to see and do, including trips to Ludington, lighthouses, Hart, and Holland.

I cannot recommend enough this holiday home. We were here for a week and we all loved everything about the experience - the house, the lake, the sandy beach, the paths of shallow water on the beach, and the thought put into stocking the house with essentials. Mears beach house.

The house was spotless, well-equipped, and had everything we could possibly need. No matter where you were inside, the views were absolutely stunning—with expansive windows that showcased the landscape beautifully. I truly admired the thoughtful architecture and design that went into creating such a remarkable space.The beach itself was gorgeous and wonderfully quiet—we saw maybe 30 people total during our stay. All the essentials were provided down by the shore, including kayaks and life jackets, which added a nice touch.The only downside was the walk to the beach. It’s quite steep, and the footing near the bottom can be a little tricky. My 75-year-old mother was able to make the trip by taking her time, but it was a challenge for her and a workout for me .

Beautiful location right on the beach

We had an amazing stay at Paula’s property. She was very responsive to any questions we had. There was a massive storm and we lost power, but the generator kicked on and we didn’t even realize it! The house is wonderfully stocked and has everything you need. The location and private beach was the best part! The only downside is the upstairs bedrooms have large sloped windows so there is no way to create blackout blinds or cover the windows. Otherwise, this is the perfect property! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Heaven on Earth

This home was absolutely gorgeous, comfy, had all the essentials and then some. Every morning we woke up to clean fresh air and enjoyed our devotions by the big window looking out onto that beautiful big Lake Michigan. The beach was perfect for our family and so relaxing having it all to ourselves. Paula was great to work with and made the whole thing easy. Definitely want to visit again! (There may not be anything to be done about this, but be advised of some jutting wood pieces with nails—old washed away piers maybe??—along the swimming perimeter.). Wonderful trip!!!

Anderson Family Vacation to Celebrate a 70th Birthday

I've stayed at this property previously. I was impressed then and continue to be impressed. This gorgeous home sits on top of a hill with massive windows that feels like a Tree House in the sky. We loved it. The house is clean and has everything one should need while staying there. The trail down to the beach may not be appropriate for older individuals but once on the beach....wow! We did not experience any inconveniences at all! It was an awesome week!

Amazing property!

This beautiful lake home surpassed all our expectations. It was perfectly clean, and contained every amenity imaginable—including toddler dishes, toddler seat, toddler bed, beach chairs and loads of sand toys. So many things I brought from home, Paula already had in the kitchen (for example, a crock pot). Two refrigerators was perfect to be able to keep the drinks cold in the downstairs fridge. The cottage was perfect for us because two of our kids had little ones that needed naps. The blackout blinds in the downstairs bedrooms were perfect for that. Plus, the cottage was surprisingly soundproof. So the babies didn't hear us upstairs when they were sleeping. Another positive: the dining room table was long enough to seat all of us together. If the family is getting together for a vacation, we want to be able to eat together! So, this was a wonderful plus. And all of these things were on top of the amazing view and gorgeous windows. I highly recommend this rental! We had a minor hiccup when we first arrived in that the lock box was stuck, so we couldn't get the key out. But Paula was on the phone with me within a minute, and solved the problem.

Girls Trip Better Than Therapy

This property if fabulous. We are a group of 70+ ladies who went to school together. The lake/beach is pristine, the walk way a little steep for one of our ladies but we loved it anyway. I've stayed in many places and this property was well stocked and can I say very clean. The WiFi is spotty but just get out and enjoy the beautify of this property. Highly recommended.
