Great stay at Betsy's Wildlife retreat once again! Convenient location, easy to get into Saranac for all of the Winter Carnival activities. House is well maintained and this year we were able to burn some word in the fire-pit outside!
Our party of 4 stayed in this spacious 3 bedroom, 4 bed cabin in a wooded area in Saranac Lake. The area is peaceful and relaxing. The cabin style house was very clean and stocked with condiments and pantry items, along with plenty of dinnerware and utensils. We were able to grill and build a campfire, but bring your own wood. There were games if you forgot yours. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Deborah,
So flad you all enjoyed your stay! We hope to have to come back and stay with us again in the future:) Safe travels home!
The property provided a perfect backdrop for our family to spend some quality time together over the holidays. Our kids are all grown up and getting the full group together can be difficult. We decided to take some time after the holidays to hang out in a beautiful area. The pictures of the home do not do it justice. The home had all the necessary elements to make for a good stay. The internet was extra fast so we could search up anything we needed. The tv had several options so we could view a movie together. It was a short drive into both Saranac and Placid which made it easy to explore both. We found a great coffee shop in Saranac called Origin that I would highly recommend. Placid was super busy so it was nice to go back to Saranac where it was bit quieter. I would recommend having a car with AWD just in case you get some snow. The house is tucked into a beautiful location but requires you to go up a bit of a hill (not too bad but something to be aware of.) It was a great house to just hang out at- we played cards, had a fire, and just spent time together.
There was plenty of room in this A-frame, including big closets. It was nicely decorated with quality furniture. The kitchen was modern and the yard was large. No neighboring houses were visible.
Our family of 5 (+ one dog) loved your home! It was super clean and very comfortable for our family to relax and have family meals together. The open floor plan, giant windows and huge deck made it the perfect mountain location. It was nicely secluded, yet close to town. Our dog loved running throughout the woods, and we loved not worrying about busy roads and close-by neighbors. The air conditioners made sleeping very comfortable on the hot days. We would love to return in the fall when the trees are turning colors.
We loved the property especially the fireplace and the large A-frame windows. It was amazingly peaceful to relax after a day of skiing or skating or cycling. Close proximity to Saranac Lake and 15 minutes from anywhere in Lake Placid. The place was clean and well maintained. Will be visiting again.
We went up here for three days and had a fantastic time. The house was beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean, so we had a lot of fun hanging out at the house. What was even better was the location: we had a ton of options in the area for hiking and swimming in particular and (for non-pandemic times) it looked like the closeby towns, especially Lake Placid, had plenty of attractions as well. Also the host was incredibly helpful and nice. Can't recommend enough!
This house is gorgeous: big wraparound porch with chairs and a table. We were happy to find a gas grill which worked great. Inside the house was rustic and pretty, and very clean. We were especially impressed with the very well-equipped kitchen. Tons of spices and other things that could be handy such as a blender, a crockpot, and a coffee grinder. There was also a coffeemaker and filters! We visited in early July so the upstairs got pretty hot in the afternoons. There are fans in the closets of every bedroom, and putting them in the windows at night helped a lot! We loved that there was laundry and detergent available in the basement. Our dogs loved the large yard and walks up and down the long gravel driveway. The property is surrounded by woods which is wonderful for privacy, but you will definitely need bugspray, at least in the summer months! Jackie was a great host: responsive and helpful. We would absolutely come back to stay here again!
We had the absolute best week in Saranac Lake at this beautiful home. The property manager was so easy to communicate with and answered all of our questions prior to our arrival. The house was so clean and perfect for our family of 5! The yard was nicely maintained and had a lot of space for the kids to run around/explore. It was a bit warm for a fire when we were there, but the fire pit is a nice touch too. The location was great for access to many of the local lakes, hiking spots, and close to Lake Placid too. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful house in Saranac, this is it!
Property listing in VRBO accurate. Very secluded and private, yet within minutes of all local businesses and activities. We mainly used it as a base for hiking with many good choices nearby. Only wish the Covid would have allowed more use of sit down restaurants.
