LOOK AT THIS VIEW and VILLA! High Elevation/180 Degree Beach/Ocean/Jungle View
NEW (2019 see additional photos!!) COMPLETE SURROUND PATIO!
Villa Libelula is extremely private!
LOCATED on the Pacific Coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, VILLA LIBÉLULA (dragonfly in Spanish) is nestled on one of the highest elevation view properties in the desirable beach community of Samara. This secluded hide away boasts 180° panoramic views of the Pacific ocean and jungle. Adorned with lush tropical flowers that attract colorful hummingbirds, dragonflies, and butterflies. Howler monkeys swing from the trees above and the sunset is only a lounge chair away..
Built in 2016, a Costa Rican style contemporary villa, designed exclusively to encompass sweeping ocean and jungle views in all of its rooms! A sun lit, open and breezy central living area with 25 ft pitched ceiling with dark wood beams welcomes you. The brand new fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with granite countertops faces a 40 foot view facing wall comprised of 10 foot tall folding glass doors which open to an expansive covered terrace with an outdoor red cedar dining table, traditional Costa Rican rocking chairs and super comfortable, cushioned teak adjustable lounge chairs. Directly in front of the terrace is a refreshing aqua blue infinity pool and beyond that is the 180° panoramic view of white sands and the crystal clear waters of Samara and Carrillo Beaches, Isla Chora and the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. Decorated with Costa Rican photos, pottery, and furniture. Appointed with ceiling fans throughout, including the terrace, as well as air conditioning in all bedrooms. The master bedroom offers a king size bed and oversized glass sliding doors with all-encompassing views, opening to a new terrace that surrounds the front , aqua infinity pool and oversized terrace. The master has an ensuite bath, with large ocean & jungle view windows and a roomy walk in closet. The spacious guest bedrooms have queen size beds, glass sliding doors, also with complete panoramic views, opening to the new terrace , aqua infinity pool and oversized terrace. The furniture within the home was custom crafted by a local artisan using wood from trees cleared for construction!
Due to the fact that the home is surrounded by cliffs, and it has a pool …..the house is not in anyway toddler proof, therefore we are unable to accept reservations with children under the age of five years old.
SHOULD YOU CHOOSE air conditioning in the bedrooms, please read information located in the “HOUSE RULES “.
We offer the AC as an option, and is $15 per day per bedroom. Paid at check in BY CASH, VENMO OR PAYPAL.
We offer a separate charge, in order to keep our nightly rate low.
CUSTOM MADE SECURITY SAFE FOR ALL YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS, MONEY, JEWLERY AND PERSONAL DEVICES
LOCATION
5 minutes by vehicle and you are in the authentic Costa Rican funky beach towns of Samara or Carrillo. Of course you are probably going to take a bit longer as all vehicles give way to the many passing iguanas, horses, cows and howler monkeys who observe from the trees. Because of the ARA Project, a Red Macau breeding and rescue concern... located in Punta Islita (tours available), we now have four Red Macaus nesting in the reserve ( Wing Nuts Zip Line ) right next to the house. You WILL see these colorful…red, blue, yellow and green parrots coming and going directly in front of the pool!
Samara's beach front restaurants and side bars, offer a wide culinary experience. If you desire the authentic Costa Rican Gallo Pinto or Casado... hamburger, pizza, sushi/ Asian or something with a French flare, to charcoal grilled steak, chicken, pork chops or whole red snapper... you will find it here! Salsa Lizano is a Costa Rican condiment developed in 1920 by the Lizano Company. Try a splash and perhaps bring some back as a memorable souvenir to share with your friends and family. Every morning on Samara Beach you will see the local fishermen launching their fishing boats and bringing back a wide selection of seafood for local restaurant offerings. All the restaurants are extremely beach casual, so sit back, watch the sunset while sipping your favorite beverage and enjoy how the warm sand feels between your toes... it doesn't get much better than this!
ACTIVITIES
In downtown Samara and directly on the beach you will find a selection of tour and water activity operators. Yoga on the beach at sunrise, surfing & paddle boarding, organic farmers market, ATV rentals, zip line and aerial parks are only some of the few fun things you can do. One of the best is a motor coach tour offering one, two and three day excursions to Costa Rica's famous Arenal Volcano, with its soothing hot springs and mud baths…it is hard to pass up!
A few other overnight excursions include the Monte Verde Cloud Forest which is known for the exhilarating eight bridge cloud walk and the Manuel Antonio National Park with its white-sand beaches, rugged rain forest with a diversity of tropical plants and wildlife including the three toed sloth, endangered white-faced capuchin monkeys and hundreds of species of birds. Waterfall tours including several on horseback and nature and wild life tours are also a fun way to spend the day. Not to mention river rafting, kayaking and canoeing in local mangroves, or snorkeling and diving in the barrier reef!
There is never a dull moment in Samara! At the end of the day, pamper yourself by scheduling a massage at one of the several "well being" centers, surrounded by tropical flowers, sounds of local birds and breaking surf.

About the host
Hosted by Kristina Hahn Papianni

Jim and I have been coming to Samara for 21 years. We
purchased the property in 2002....when Hurricane Sandy hit the New Jersey Shore in 2012...we lost our summer home that had been in the family for 85 years. Rethinking and rethinking our options...we decided that it was time to build in Samara!
