About the host
Hosted by Colin Clark
I am a retired veterinary surgeon and spent much of my youth in and around Aberfeldy. When my parents were ailing, I bought the cottage, the better to be able to keep an eye on them as they neared the end of their lives. After they died, I kept the cottage and have used it as a holiday home for my family and friends and have occasionally let it out. Now I want other visitors to enjoy the area and since I have retired, I am better able to run it as a HOMEAWAY project.
Why they chose this property
The cottage is stone built with thick walls which help to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It dates back to the late nineteenth century. The property is in a quiet location in the centre of the town with easy access to all shops and local amenities. Having a gaited garden, it is very safe for young children and suitable for family holidays. There is a local recreation centre with swimming pool and gymnasium as well as a local cinema. There is also a park with a play area for small children.
What makes this property unique
Peace and quiet whilst being in the centre of town. As soon as you step out to the Main Street there are views of the near and distant hills. The surrounding countryside is stunningly beautiful and a short walk will take you to the banks of the mighty river Tay and the famous General Wade’s bridge, built in the early 18th century.
