Fantastic location and very charactrful house. Slightly odd arrangement of rooms - bedrooms are spread over three floors and the sitting area is upstairs but everywhere was extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped. Roof terrace was a beautiful addition to sit out and eat. Hosts were very helpful on arrival - saved us a parking space across the bridge and helped transport our luggage to the house. Highly recommended
Very pleasant, characterful and quirky cottage in a lovely area right by the river. Easy walk into town and adjacent to a lovely park.Easy communication with owners who met us at the cottage.Very clean and well-presented...clearly a lot of thought has gone into the decor.Would stay again.
Neil and Barbara met us at the accommodation which was nice, they were very welcoming, The accommodation itself was amazing, so quaint and full of interesting things, The location was great for what we needed, Overall a great stay and looking forward to coming back in the summer months x
We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were very accommodating and showed us through the house upon arrival. The location was amazing within walking distance from all the major attractions. We spent lots of time up on top floor patio that looks out over the river and the foot bridge. We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful stay at Riverbridge Cottage in Chester. The cottage is exceptionally clean, quiet, and conveniently located for all our activities around town. The hosts, Neil and Barbara, were a pleasure to work with. They were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay a pleasant one. Would definitely book again.
Neil and Barbara were great and met us on arrival to familiarize us with the property. The house was beautifully appointed and comfortable. Location was perfect … close to the river and walkable to everything. Absolutely Lovely!!
Loved the location of this charming cottage in Chester. Met with owners in person for an overview of the house. Home is walking distance to the Rows, Roman wall and ruins, beautiful parks and the train station. We enjoyed having coffee in the morning on the rooftop terrace overlooking the bridge and the river!
Pros: The property was beautiful, and very comfortable with sumptuous bedding. A fantastic location. Hosts were lovely. Cons: Perhaps a little over-cluttered with all the trinkets everywhere. Difficult to find ‘usable’ or everyday kitchen items that we weren’t terrified of breaking. A little noisy due to passing revellers in the evening, but it’s a premium location so you would expect that. Car parking not directly outside but not far away and we always found a space. I thought the downstairs area smelt of damp, but again it was basement level and near the river so not a huge surprise.

In response to comments; all furnishings, décor and Objets d'art pieces have been careful considered to create a classic English interior aesthetic befitting the character of the property. Kitchen has all the cookware and utensils etc one would require all orderly arranged to hand in drawers and cupboards etc. We have no control over timing of events / occasions etc - the guest stay was during the FIFA world cup football, England playing in the early hours - we mentioned of possible disturbance. Also, at this time, unprecedented heat (36°) and humidity did upset the heat balance / feel of the lower ground level, proximity of the river had nothing to do with it!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Riverbridge Cottage. We loved being in such a unique property, and its vibrant location. It was a glorious weekend and so we were able to use the first floor terrace. The cottage has all the comforts of home and Barbara and Neil clearly care about the cottage and their guests. Wonderful.
Riverbridge cottage is a quaint, highly-decorated home. The owners have spared no expense in quality workmanship and decor. It is ideal for the special guest who is looking for a british experience. The reason for 4 stars is that each room is small and separate. We had difficulty finding space for personal items, luggage etc. However, a great location with easy access to all that Chester has to offer.

We had such a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage in Chester. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. The cottage was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bedding was luxurious as well! The little touches and local art made it feel extra special. You could spend quite a bit of time admiring all the art pieces in this home. The location was perfect, peaceful and charming, yet just a short distance from the heart of Chester. After long days exploring the city, it was so nice to come back to such a relaxing and cozy retreat. We really appreciated how thoughtful and responsive our host was, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free.We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable place to stay in Chester.

Riverbridge is a beautiful cottage in a perfect location for a break in Chester.
It had everything we needed for our stay and everything was top quality, I don't think I had better/more comfortable beds in any holiday let.
Neil and Barbara were perfect hosts, the welcome basket very much appreciated.
It may not be suitable for smaller children though thanks to the interesting decor. Parking could be a bit tricky but it was ok later in the day.
