Duplex Cabin Rental On Secluded, Calm, Clear, Quiet, Gull Lake
Just a short 1-hour drive from Winnipeg on a secluded, calm, clean lake, perfect for a week away from it all!
Duplex cottage - one unit sleeps 7 (3 bedroom) and the other sleeps 6 (2 bedroom, 1 hide a bed, 1 bath), additional shared bath house outbuilding with 3 piece washroom. Both units have a living room and kitchen.
Gull Lake is a nice little lake that is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, spotting painted turtles, and fishing for small perch and pike. The water is clear and is perfect for snorkeling. The shallow beach makes it great for little ones and it gets deep enough to master your swimming skills.
The cabin is located in the heart of Manitoba's premier beach region. There are a dozen nearby beaches to explore, and the Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail is minutes away if you want to bird watch and spot wild orchids. There are hundreds of great trails for walking, quadding and biking.
While this property is on the lake, the cabins we rent are not lake-front. The rental has lake views from the yard. Guest access to the water is at the public beach 200 yards from the cottage. It’s close enough that coming back to the cabin for snacks, naps, or gear is not a pain. The public beach is very quiet and our guests are often the only ones there.
The property has it all! We call it our "Happy Place." Come check it out for yourself! Any questions, comments or concerns? Feel free to contact us anytime.

44 Sherwood St - Duplex Duplex Cabin in Gull Lake
We stayed for 1 full week and it
This facility would require upgrades/indoor full washrooms to be more user friendly.
With 2 units, 5 bedrooms, indoor washrooms are a must to have given the price you pay to rent for a week.
You also need to take garbage and recycle away with you something we experienced for the first time.
Other than those concerns, we enjoyed our stay.

Family time
It was lovely to have our family together after 3 years for games, beach swims, roasting marshmallows and cuddles. Sandy & Brad are lovely people who are on site, but access their place through the yard designated for the rental. It was not ideal having to go outside to use the facilities as the one indoor portable toilet is for urine only, especially in the rain or the middle of the night with children. Access to water is only down the street at the public beach . Broken head trail was a highlight.
The cabins were clean and well equipped. They were perfect for our kids, spouses, and grandkids. The host are very nice and always ready to help. Unfortunate there were fire bans and the trails were closed to ATVs but we still enjoyed the area.
Excellent space for families. Kitchen had all cookware, utensils and serving dishes we could want. Hosts were very friendly, helpful and attentive when needed. All requests were dealt with promptly. Short walk to the beach wasn’t ideal but completely manageable and it is accurately described on booking site. We had a good time.
Very Gracious hosts.
Thanks Sandy and Brad!

About the host
Hosted by Sandy and Brad
Having grown up in the area, we are happy to be able to enjoy summers on this little lake. We own this private property that has with 2 buildings (1 is a duplex) on site. The owners reside in the lakhouse building and are readily available to make sure you have what you need to enjoy your stay.
Why they chose this property
Gull Lake is a short drive from Winnipeg, and is a nice small lake away from the crowds, and close to attractions. The cabin is comfortable, clean, and cozy. The location allows visitors to spend their time onsite or explore other nearby beaches such as Grand Beach, Patricia Beach, Beaconia, and Victoria Beach. During your stay you can enjoy the quite beach on Gull Lake and read a book or play in the sand and water, or you can take a drive to Grand Beach to walk the boardwalk and see the crowds on the white powder-like sand.
What makes this property unique
The highlight of this vacation location is the flexibility to make your vacation what you want it to be. The cabin is stocked with books, board games, and cards. For rainy days the TV and DVD and the selection of movies will keep you entertained. The shoreline is gradual, making it great for little ones. And it gets deep enough to be fun for experienced swimmers. Little minnows and turtles are spotted daily, and birds like gulls, whipoorwills, and cranes can be spotted. If you want a night out, South Beach Casino is a 5 minute drive and has a great buffet restaurant.
