Tucked behind a row of period houses on a quiet cul-de-sac, with the front door totally hidden, this Grade II* listed cottage has been carefully renovated using local artisans and is beautifully furnished throughout. With exposed Cotswold stone walls and beams and handmade pottery.
The cottage has a characterful, well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs is a bathroom filled with Bramley products, and a sitting room with tasteful art, an open fire, TV, books and magazines. Your restful bedroom is above, under a traditional mansard roof.
Walk into town, around the local park, along the river Avon or to the National Trust village of Lacock. Cycle to the ancient stone circle of Avebury, mainly off-road. Local pubs and plenty of restaurants are a stroll. Stonehenge is a 45-minute drive, and the largest artificial prehistoric mound in Europe at Silbury Hill, is just 20 minutes.
The cottage is old and characterful. It isn't a standard building. It is set over 3 floors and is therefore not recommended for people with mobility issues and young children.
