This one-bedroom one bath apartment has an outstanding view of Folsom Lake in a quiet neighborhood with direct access to a hiking trail along the lake. Wake to the sounds of birds and watch the stars emerge after sunset. Turkey, deer, and quail abound. This beautiful carriage house has a large deck, new appliances, clean and pristine. Decorated in a calming water and wood theme with queen size bed. Not far from historic Folsom. 450 square feet. Private guest house. Located on the second floor with one set of stairs.

Great View and Great Area

Great spot for a couple with an outdoor deck facing the lake. We enjoyed propane fire on the deck and listening to the wildlife in the evenings. Lots of good restaurants and shopping within 10 miles. Suggest going to Historic Folsom, which is about a 10 minute drive.

Beautiful Hideaway

Great location

The deck was the best part of the property! The vista was fantastic. The property was not as clean as i had hoped. Dead and decomposing deer onwithin 6 feet of deck and nothing could have been done to get it removed?

Nature bliss

The property was exactly what I was looking for. I’m so glad that there wasn’t any noisy house construction from the house being built next-door, I mostly just sat on the deck and enjoyed a cup of coffee or tea and watched the wildlife and took a very pleasant hike straight off the property around the lake. I would definitely love to stay there again

Cozy & Clean

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this very comfortable and clean abode. With a stunning lake view and all the amenities we needed, we wished we could have stayed longer. And Richard and Wendy were fabulous hosts who replied promptly to my questions and even stopped in to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our visit. We will book here again the next time we're in El Dorado Hills.

Perfect Getaway

We wish we could have stayed longer! Richard and Wendy have done a lovely job with every tiny detail in the Carriage House from snacks/wine ready upon arrival, to a nicely set table that welcomes guests, and in-house laundry. Their hospitable personalities made us feel at home and their recommendations for local things to do and places to eat did not disappoint. We wish we could have stayed longer and certainly look forward to a return visit!

Perfect in every way

We continue to come back to this beautiful place with a view of the lake. It is located very near family we are visiting and we are so happy to have discovered it. The view is spectacular. But the space inside is also so lovely. Wendy and Richard have thought of everything you could need. They are wonderful hosts. Every time we come back we feel like we are returning to a little bit of paradise away from home!

The perfect retreat

I loved everything about my stay at the Carriage House. It is such a quiet and peaceful setting with beautiful views from the deck. It is clean and cute and stocked with everything I needed. I cried when I had to leave and will definitely be back! Hiking around the lake was a big highlight as was watching the hawks fly over the lake as I sat on the deck. The owners are so hospitable and welcoming and helpful with any questions. Loved my stay!

Beautiful lake views and quick trail access

My wife and I loved our stay in El Dorado Hills from February to May. The Vrbo had access to great hiking trails and wildlife. In spring, there were a ton of wildflowers around the lake and we saw plenty of deer, herons, cranes, turkey, and other birds. Wendy and Richard were also great hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed and were great when it came to answering our questions about the area such as ski resorts and local parks.

Paradise

We have stayed at the Carriage House before and want to keep coming back. This property is maintained with every detail for visitor comfort in mind. Richard and Wendy are incredible hosts. Serene, elegant, splendor!

When searching for a lodging option closer to our daughter in Folsom we happened upon this JEWEL! Tucked neatly on the edge of Folsom lake in an upscale neighborhood we immediately felt as if we were in a private resort! The view from the deck is unparalleled in any commercial property we have stayed at in the area! The touches of BLUE throughout the property mirror the lake bringing a sense of elegant serenity! We were extremely pleased with the value of our stay and can't wait to book the CARRIAGE HOUSE again in the near future!

What a wonderful place!

We absolutely loved our stay with Wendy and Richard. The apartment is beautiful and there is so much love to details. It was super clean and well equipped. The view is just incredible. Sitting on the deck and overlooking the lake is so peaceful. The pool was a lot of fun as well. Everything is so well equipped and set up with so much love for details. Wendy was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we need. It’s really quiet but super close to playgrounds, restaurants and a grocery store. We will definitely be back.

Great view

Nice property, nice owner. I had a few issues: rotting deer carcass next to the deck. This was on the neighbors property which was a house under construction. I do think it could have been addressed. Multiple spiders throughout the cottage. They were the daddy long legs variety but there were many. I was also not able to have more than 2 visitors which put me in a predicament with family I had traveled days to see. We went to a hotel and used their courtyard without any problems. I did enjoy the view and peaceful nature when the construction workers weren’t making lots of noise into Friday evening and all day Saturday. I do think you will enjoy this property. Just be aware of the visitors rules and check on the spiders and next door issues.

Our home is located in a rural setting so that we can take advantage of biking, hiking, skiing (water and snow) golf, kayaking and the list goes on. We enjoy meeting our guests and sharing the beauty and tranquility of our home. We are also dog friendly.
