Victorian home 1st floor of duplex in the heart of the Highlands/Germantown has modern amenities and comfort mixed with vintage style. We are ready to host short term, mid-term, and long term rental guests. Digital nomads, nurses and healthcare professionals welcome!
This well equipped 1st floor apartment features 1200 sq ft, large (Sleeps 4), eat in kitchen, 2 full baths, 1 large master bedroom with full closet, a living room with a queen size sofa bed (2nd bed) and armoire. TO BE CLEAR: OF NOTE: The 2nd bedroom is the front area of the apartment which includes -1 queen sofa bed in the living room, armoire(sheets and pillows inside), full bathroom with step in shower. This area can be separated by a door acting as 2nd private bedroom if needed and each bedroom area has a private exterior door to get in and out.
High speed internet, 2 smart TVs. Washer and dryer on 1st floor. Premium mattress, bedding, linens, and towels.
Louisville is home to the Kentucky Derby, Forecastle Festival, and don’t forget about the Bourbon Distillery tours! We are the Napa Valley of Bourbon!!!
Because of our close proximity to Louisville’s vibrant nightlife, the eclectic dining scene & shopping it’s no wonder visitors flock here to get a taste of something amazing! Walk to the hottest music venue- Old Forester Paristown Hall.
Quick cab ride or car sharing service to and from the Airport ( 5.9 miles), to Churchill Downs (4.8 miles), KY Expo Center (4.7 miles), KY International Convention Center (2.4 miles), KFC Yum Center (2.5 miles), University of Louisville (3 miles) and to Downtown Louisville (2 miles).
Sleeps 4 comfortably, has a beautiful large back yard with a patio furniture and private parking in the back. Also has free on street parking in the front. Space for RV parking. No Pets, No Parties/Events please.

Short visit in Louisville for Eclipse

We had a great stay at this property. The location was great. We could easily walk to a lot of neat restaurants and shops. The procedures for check in and check out were easy. Having the off street parking spot in the rear of the property was very convenient. We would stay here again if we are in the area for another visit.

Long weekend in Louisville

Great property in a great location. Nice quiet neighborhood, and close (walking distance) to many great restaurants and breweries. The only downside for us was the bed could have been bigger, and although comfortable, the mattress was very noisy.

I really enjoyed my 10 night stay at this property. The home was very comfortable and had all of the supplies that were needed. The location was great both for work and for checking out the Highlands section of town. There was ample parking and I felt very safe in the neighborhood. I would stay there again!

Perfect place!

This place is awesome! It is spacious and lovely! And very well stocked! It is easily within a short walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. And the best bakery serving breakfast and lunch! It is about 2 miles to downtown where some of the distillery’s are and fourth street. We loved our stay here! We hope to return!

Great house for couple in quiet but vibrant neighborhood

Great property, convenient to downtown and nightlife a block away. Worked well for my husband and i. But it could easily work for two couples or a family of four with the pull-out sofa in living room. Nice to have two full bathrooms. Beautiful backyard. Comfortable beds. Kitchen was well equipped.

Inviting pied a terre for any stay in Kentucky

Beautiful small but charming and comfortable home perfect for a couple. Best part was lovely rear yard to relax after busy day. Hosts are outstanding! Neighborhood is trendy and fun. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area in depth. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Great house, clean, didn't want to leave type house! Car parking in the rear of the house so you don't need to find parking on the street in front. Plenty of local eateries driving and within walking distance. Showed friends and family house pictures and they want to stay here! Girl’s Weekend

My cousin and I met in Louisville as a half way point. We came to celebrate a clean bill of health after her chemo treatments!! God is so good!! The VRBO was darling. She and I both loved the style and decor. It was well appointed though we were only there one night so we didn’t get to take advantage of all of the amenities. Check in was very simple. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend this rental.

Post Christmas Getaway

My family and I enjoyed two nights at this property. We walked down to the outdoor ice skating rink and visited many of the vintage/thrift shops that were within walking distance. We drove to Lights under Louisville and were impressed by the beautiful display of Christmas lights. One minor critique of the area is that some people may feel a bit unsafe in the seedier parts of the neighborhood that were littered with trash, clothes, and abandoned buildings, especially if they are not used to or familiar with the area.The area seemed to be in a transition between what used to be and what is to come. Everyone that we interacted with was kind and helpful and the property that we stayed in was clean and matched the description.

Perfect place for a Louisville getaway.

I have family in Louisville and this year my husband and I decided to take an extended visit. We rented Karen and Ken Sumner's renovated Victorian home in Germantown for 3 weeks. The entire experience was as good as could be expected. Since the owners lived next door, they were exceptionally responsive. The home was clean and completely renovated. Everything looked so new, that it seemed to me that we were the first people to use them. The kitchen appliances were pristine. The home was completely supplied with all the cooking, bathroom and linen items that we needed to make the stay comfortable and homey. The layout was perfect. It was roomy enough to have alone space, yet not so large that we would ramble around. There was enough space to have my grandchildren stay overnight. Having a second bathroom in a one bedroom home was an extra bonus. The backyard was fun to have. Although the weather wasn't so accommodating, we did have a few breakfasts on the patio, a great way to start the day. We enjoyed the short walk to The Cafe for the best breakfasts and a bit longer walk to Bardstown Road which has a varied array of restaurants. I would be hard pressed to find any negatives for our stay. I am a little of a neat freak, so cleanliness was very important to me. I would absolutely stay here on our next extended visit to Louisville.

We went for the State Fair which was disappointing. However are stay was wonderful. The house was in a great location. Close to most everything else we did while there. Nice qiute neighborhood, clean comfortable house. We will be back to due a bourbon trail and this will be the place we book. Karen was easy to communicate with and very responsive.

My husband and I have lived in this neighborhood since 1997. I was born in Louisville and my husband grew up in California. I am a retired nurse now realtor and my husband is a general contractor and has been doing home renovations since 2007.
We both graduated from the University of Louisville. We started our home sharing adventure in May of 2017 and have absolutely loved meeting people from all over the country. We would love to host people from other countries too. Everyone we have met has been so considerate and come visit for a variety of reasons from KY Derby to sporting events to just wanting to meet up with old friends. Our house is in the most desirable neighborhood in Louisville. It is close to everything cool and still has that old school neighborhood feel! It is the pulse of the city. All of the best local restaurants and bars within walking distance. We are close to Bardstown Rd, Downtown, The Convention Center, The Ky Expo Center, Waterfront Park, University of Louisville and Churchill Downs.
