After staying here with Gerardo, we went to an all inclusive resort on the Pacific coast to experience both the rainforest mountains and the beaches. I will never go to another concrete jungle resort if I can help it. This guest house on a working ranch had some bugs, but was clean, but from the back porch, we also saw two cans, monkeys, found, a tortoise, went on horseback rides, and completely enjoyed and immersed ourselves in real Costa Rica. If you want to stay at a Holiday Inn, maybe you don’t go to Costa Rica? There were quirks with the house, but we loved it. Gerardo who has lived on the ranch for over 30 years doesn’t speak any English, there’s no Wi-Fi at the house, and new grocery stores very close by so plan everything out before you go and totally enjoy your stay in the country in the rainforest in the clouds. if you’re squeamish, this isn’t a great spot for you either. The tree frog in the shower, the beautiful blue lizard under the bed and a scorpion behind the plant. We’re all pretty awesome in our opinion. It is a completely unique experience and one that I’m really glad we did.
