The beach is less than 50 yards from the front door, it is wide and clean, with no high-rises to crowd the beach. Surfside Beach is wonderful because it is close to restaurants in the center of town without a lot of traffic. Your children can ride their bikes in the street or fish at the nearby lake.
There's plenty to do in the area. Surfside Beach has a nice little downtown, with open-air restaurants, small shops, and a fishing pier. The location of Surfside Beach is great if golf is part of your vacation. Surfside is about 20 minutes north Pawley's Island, and about 30 minutes south of North Myrtle Beach. There are over 100 golf courses within a 30 minutes drive.
The home is just a few blocks to the Surfside Pier and several great family restaurants. Murrells Inlet with its renowned seafood restaurants is just 5 miles south. Go five miles north and find the new Market Common at the old Air Force base property and step into another world of great restaurants like Tommy Bahamas and PF Changs or visit Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant for great brew and eats! Find shops like Ann Taylor, Chicos, Pottery Barn, William Sonoma and many more. Mom can shop while the kids go the Grand 13 Movie Theater, with ultra comfy seating, plus the ice cream and surf shops! Free concerts in the park occur regularly as well as fireworks and other events. There is also a very modern Piggly Wiggly (& Starbucks!) and much more.
Just a little further north is the Coastal Grand Mall which also sports a great movie theater complex and a variety of store fronts. Another few minutes takes you to Broadway at the Beach which has a variety of venues including an Imax Theater, MagicQuest and Ripley's Aquarium amidst a wide selection of restaurants and great shopping. Celebrity Square is the nightlife club section for those looking for more excitement. There are great live theaters like the Carolina Opry and the Legends Theatre. Hard Rock Park will be back this summer with better pricing and new ownership. A little closer to home is Wild Water Waves & Wheels park, which is just a mile away in Surfside!
