Great find

Very pretty little house, very clean, extremely well equipped kitchen, lovely enclosed garden which was great for the dogs. Short walk to the sea wall and beach, you can walk to the main beach at low tide. Cowes is a 40 minute walk or short taxi ride. Great base for exploring the island.

Great location but cleanliness and maintenance let’s it down

This property is in a great location and it could be a fantastic holiday let but at the moment the level of cleanliness and maintenance lets it down. All of the surfaces were clean but under sofas/ beds/ in cupboards was filthy! Dust/ crumbs and hair everywhere and it really put us off. Also there were many things broken or falling apart- decking boards outside, the sofas arm wasn’t connected to the sofa and doors not fitting properly. These things really let the place down and impacted on our enjoyment of the property. It could be fantastic- it just needs better attention and management.

Not great but has potential to be lovely

This house has such potential to be a great holiday home - the location is wonderful, the rooms are large and layout of the house is fab. However, upon arrival the house had clearly only had a very light clean. There was white dog hair everywhere and we had to clean the bath before using it. The shower tray didn’t drain when using it and there was a strong drainage smell in both bathrooms. The slats on the main bed were broken when we arrived but the agent sent someone to fix it straight away the next day. The velux windows didn’t open in most rooms which made the house stuffy - those windows that did open were covered in thick dust which fell out onto the beds below when you opened the windows. The kitchenware also needs a big upgrade…the cutlery was peeling off and the chinaware was in bad shape. Only three bowls for a house that sleeps 6 people. We also found two set mouse traps in the low kitchen cupboard upon arrival which were very dangerous for children so had to move them immediately. The house needs a deep clean and replacing of some kitchenware, a little TLC and it would then be great!

Highly Recommended

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We had a maintenance issue during our stay but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the friendly team. A great place to relax by the sea or in the garden and lots to do on the island - nothing is very far away!
