About this property
Year Round Lakeview Cottage with Dock on Lake Champlain
Year round activities in a private lakeview cottage!
Winter:
We are located on the VAST trail (Corridor 78) for snowmobiling with direct access right out of our driveway! Plenty of off street parking for your trailer and machines. Amazing ice fishing right in front of the cabin as well! An hour from Jay Peak, 1.5 from Smuggler's Notch, and 2 hr. from Stowe Mountains for skiing and riding.
Spring:
Spring skiing in the mountains or mountain biking once the snow is gone. Visit a Maple Sugar house, see maple syrup being made, and try the famous "sugar on snow." Of course, Spring is amazing fishing here; it is prime time Salmon and Walleye season in this area!
Summer:
Boating, fishing, swimming, biking, hiking all directly from our cottage! Our dock is directly across the street. A short 5 minute walk down the road will take you to a beautiful sandy swimming beach. Summer concerts, beer festivals, food fairs, farmer's markets, amusement parks, are all 30-45 minutes or less on a day trip to Burlington, Montreal, or St. Albans. Visit the Vineyards and farmer's markets or go antiquing in the Champlain Islands, 10 minutes away.
*We do now share our dock and deck/access with the neighbors, a nice couple. They do not live there full time and are very rarely around so most of the time it will be all yours! They do not have a boat on the dock so that will be the same as it has always been; open and available for your boat during your stay!
Fall:
Foliage is breathtaking in this area! We are connected to the gorgeous Lake Champlain Islands via bridge, only a beautiful hour drive from Jay Peak and 1.5 hours from Stowe with amazing foliage and views! Many Fall fairs, apple festivals, brewery tours, vineyards, music festivals, and of course fall fishing! Duck and goose hunting is big in this area this time of year as well.
For Fisherman:
This area is known for catching unbelievable trophy winning small and large mouth bass, walleye, pike, perch and crappie literally right off our shore! Bass really love the trestle bridge out front and the Missisquoi river to the north. If it's salmon you are after, a short boat ride south will get you in fantastic salmon territory! Hog Island Market is 2 miles away and accessible by car or boat in minutes for fishing licenses, live bait, tackle, boat gas, and snacks. Campbell's Bay Campground is 3.5 miles away for fishing licenses, boat gas, pontoon rentals, tackle, snacks and is accessible by car or boat as well. This spot is MADE for fisherman!
We are located in between the Route 78 Alburgh/Swanton bridge and trestle bridge in East Alburgh, VT. We have a large off-street parking spot, with electricity, for your boat and trailer. You can drop in at the Larry Greene/West Swanton public launch 1/4 mile away (just across the bridge) and tie up to our dock with-in minutes! Our dock is directly across the road from our cottage. Keep your fishing and boating gear safe and secure in our large screened in porch.
For Golfers:
We are located 15-30 minutes from 4 fantastic golf courses! Voted one of the best in Vermont, Alburgh Golf links, is 15 minutes away with beautiful lake views. Champlain Country Club and North Country Golf Club are both 20 minutes away. If you bring your passport the Club de Golf International 2000 is right across the border 25 minutes away!
For couples and families:
Our dock, directly across the road, has a 10X12 ft deck for swimming and sunning with easy access to bring all the water toys you'd like. A row boat and life jackets are included in the rental. Our bay is calm and great for kayaking and SUP. Storage under the deck for all your toys as well. A short 5 minute walk down the road to the south of the trestle bridge, will take you to a beautiful sandy swimming beach that is typically deserted so will most likely be all yours! There is also access to walking and biking trails there. We have a very large and private backyard for lawn games and 2 fire pits for roasting marshmallows under the stars. We are 2 miles from the Missisquoi National Wildlife refuge with great nature trails and bird watching. Sandbar beach on Maquam shore, just a few miles to the south, is a popular spot for anchoring, swimming, and picnicking for the day. We are an hour from Jay Peak, Montreal, and Burlington if you are looking for more public adventures.
The cabin has been completely refurbished on the inside with brand new beds, memory foam mattresses, and linens. We want your stay to be as easy and effortless as possible so we are providing bedding, bath and swimming towels, and toiletries for your comfort. We also have a fully stocked kitchen with new stove, fridge, microwave, utensils, cookware, dinnerware, coffee pot, toaster, ect...
Your rental includes free WiFi and a new smart TV to easily watch and listen to your favorite Pandora, Netflix, Amazon and YouTube music and movies and much, much, more!
Sleeping arrangements: 1 queen bed in the first bedroom. 2nd bedroom has an adult bunk with a queen on the bottom and a full size mattress on the top. The loveseat in the living area folds out into a twin. We can sleep 4 single adults, a family of 5, 2 couples, or 2 couples and 2 children comfortably.

About the host
Hosted by Khara and Steve Henry

Steve grew up in this area and would spend summers here on the shore fishing and swimming with his brothers. Wanting to preserve those fond memories he and his brothers have purchased multiple properties in the neighborhood and have been renovating them for family use the past few years and now have begun renting to share this beautiful shoreline with other families. We boat, fish, snowmobile, golf, and relax in the area at our cabin down the road and can give recommendations for anything you are looking for!
Why they chose this property
Lakeside privacy in quiet neighborhood but less than 1 hour from all the action in Montreal and Burlington! One of the very few year round rentals in the area. One of the ONLY rentals with a boat dock!
What makes this property unique
A very magical area, Alburgh is a peninsula bordering Canada and connecting the 'mainland' of Vermont with the infamous Champlain Islands. A must do excursion with breathtaking Views of the Green Mountains in Vermont and the Adirondacks of New York surrounding you as you drive along Lake Champlain. One of the few working Trestle Train Bridges left in New England is right out your front door! Enjoy watching the train cross the water as you sip a drink from the lakefront deck. We are the ONLY lodging in Vermont that is on the VAST trail AND Lake Champlain for snowmobile and ice fishing enthusiasts! Wildlife refuge and walking trails right down the road. The best fishing in the state out your front door- so good televised Bass tournaments are filmed in the area! You can relax in your private, nature filled cabin and it is only a 45 minute drive to Burlington, VT or Montreal, Quebec to experience top notch restaurants, shopping, art and theatre!
