About this property
Peace and tranquility and stars! near Builth Wells
The house is a large four bedroom farm house set in a secluded location between the Cambrian and Brecon Beacons mountain ranges, a few miles from Builth.
The house is within over a hundred acres of farm land, with its own private garden; lawn, wild flower area, barbeque and terrace, and has stunning views across the valley to the South-West over the Epynt. The house is next to a quiet farm yard, with no neighbours for half a mile.
If you love sitting under the stars then look no further! The farmhouse has a large open plan lounge-kitchen-diner with a cosy log fire (with all the wood you can burn included in the price), and secondary snug lounge. The snug has a dvd player so for those needing quiet time away from the kitchen bustle so a perfect place for sanctuary or the 'gamers' in you if you bring your own console. The farmhouse sleeps eight people comfortably in three double bedrooms and one twin, with two en suite bathrooms, a main family bathroom.
Ideal for walking, cycling, golfing, mountain biking, bird watching, star gazing, day trips and more importantly relaxing! Other things to note: In the Summer months the larger workshed may be used for sheep shearing - daytime only (2 weeks of the yr).

We stayed at the farmhouse in Jul/Aug for 11 nights. The house is quite old & rustic, with traditional furniture & fittings. The view from the garden is lovely & peaceful, & there were house martins flying all around. It's about 10 mins drive from Builth Wells, with no immediate neighbours. The house is well equipped & has an open plan kitchen/living area. For cooler months there's a log store for the woodburner & standalone heaters around the property. Some points to note: The garden is enclosed, but a large old shed is accessible within the garden, cordoned off with a line of string. This isn't an issue for older children, but younger children would need to be supervised; there was an exposed staircase up the side and a slight drop-off at ground level alongside part of it. There was also an accessible trough with water in it.The driveway is along a rutted track, which could be difficult for low slung cars. A couple of things which were slight negatives for us, though not things which spoilt the holiday: Not all windows had coverings, incl the 2 ensuites which we covered ourselves at night & when our teenage children were showering. There was no connector between the main dvd player & tv - not an issue in the end, as both tv's had various apps & one had a built-in dvd player, it was just frustrating for a while.More lamps would have been helpful, esp for ease of reading in the evenings.Overall tho, we were happy with the farmhouse & would stay there again.

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
The view from this property was stunning and the host was good at communicating, even got send a hand book which was really helpful with everything in the house as well as local things we can do. Unfortunately we did come across a few things that were not up to our expectations like a lot of cobwebs, oven and kettle were quite unclean, we found one of the beds splintered and generally some of the furniture is due to be replaced. The host did communicate with us and got the oven cleaned whilst we were there, plus a replacement kettle. It might be worth mentioning to anyone who want to stay here in the future, the road leading up to the accommodation can only be described as a dirt track (you have to drive through a sheep field) and if our car was any smaller then we probably would have struggled to get to the house. We loved that it was all gated in and in the middle of nowhere.
