Birthday with friends

The house was excellent. The skies holiday host left a lot to be desired ! There were things broken in the property. He didn’t fix them and wanted to charge 20 pounds for an hour later check out - ! Which quite frankly when you are paying a lot for a holiday home is outrageous - especially as we knew there was no one else booked into the house. Such a shame because the house was amazing and we had a lovely time but that customer service would have made all the difference if it had been good.

Hi Claire, thanks for taking the time to review your stay in Ambleside! I am glad you had a great time at Barakat, but I am sorry to hear that our team was not as helpful as we try to be - we have since updated the owner and there is a replacement toaster en route now! I am afraid that the late check-out is a fixed cost across the board, but can understand that this may have been frustrating. Thanks again for your time, I hope that despite the issue you faced that you would still return to the Lakes and explore some more of the amazing places in and around Ambleside!

Amazing lakes retreat

Genuinely lovely 3 en-suite bedroom property in a location that could not be better for widespread and convenient access to the large portions of the Lake District. Amenities of Ambleside a 10 minute stroll away and a park directly across the road. Well appointed modern kitchen a joy to use with proper appliances and Sage coffee machine. Extremely comfortable lounge and plenty of room for all. Accommodation quality cannot be overstated here it is a fabulous property. The slight hiccup of our week was that the property management company seemed unable to resolve a small issue we identified early in the week regarding a delivery to the post box and we left at the end of the week with this still outstanding despite several attempts from us to reach out. Hopefully an aberration but disappointing nonetheless. Make sure you reserve a table at the Old Stamp House or it’s sister Kysty (both Ambleside) ahead of your stay, they are absolutely incredible. Buy a pie from Rattle Ghyll, stock up on walking gear at the Mountain Factor and get a Cumberland sausage from Garside butchers. Amazing town. Do not hesitate to book this incredible house for your week, I can’t think there would be anywhere that even comes close!
