High marks

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a charming little mountain house in a very rustic setting. It had all the modern amenities but has kept its old world charm. It is well equipped and has a lovely garden area with fresh veggies and flowers. The neighbourhood has restaurants, grocery stores and bars, which are unexpected so high up from Calheta . The ocean view over Cahleta is lovely. It was perfect! The owners are very sweet people and we could see the pride they have when showing us the property. It is a great starting point for exploring the area. Some of Madeira's best levada walks are only 15 minutes away in the mountains. I would recommend having a car if you stay here. The sand beach in Calheta is also only a short drive away, as are the pretty towns of Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar, which are both worth visiting. We also enjoyed the small bar a few minutes walk away where the locals come for a coffee or a beer or a poncha.

Rosa hat alles bestens erklärt, und die Informationen über die Insel, auch in Papierform, waren sehr nützlich. In der Wohnung ist alles vorhanden, was man so braucht. Und als Standort für Entdeckungstouren war es super. Es war sehr sauber.

Tolle Aussicht aus dem wunderschönen Garten

Unser Urlaub auf Madeira war wunderschön. Wir haben jeden Morgen in diesem wunderschönen bunten Garten gefrühstückt. Von dort aus konnten wir bis zum Meer herunter schauen. Die kleinen Mauereidechsen, die auf Madeira heimisch sind, sind besonders niedlich. Die Wohnung hatte alles, was man benötigt. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Uns stand beim Einzug ein selbstgebackener Kuchen, Bananen und ein Wein bereit. Ganz toll!
